FYI - Anchor & Hope on the river is temporarily closed. The Antigalican pub by the train station is closed down. The only pub near the ground that I would recommend is the Rose of Denmark which is left and left again out the train station and a bit of a walk. The Royal Oak on the other side of the ground is definitely a HOME only pub |

FYI - Not much in the way of watering holes near the ground now days with a few old pubs now closed. Would suggest those attending to head to Blackheath or Greenwich before the game and jumping on the train to Charlton. The Pilot near the O2 is also a good shout if coming by the Jubilee line, it is a short bus trip to Charlton or a lengthy walk from there |

I blame my cousin who got me into QPR. As all my family on my mums side came out of Bermondsey they all supported Millwall and my first ever game I attended with my Grandad (probably around the age of 4) was at The Den However, my cousin liked the QPR kit and in 1974 we had the makings of a great team, roll on 75/76 season - Bowles, Francis, Thomas etc and that was it....a life sentence of supporting QPR was handed down to me. Funny enough my turncoat cousin is back supporting Wall. Not a bad thing as he has tickets for the Executive boxes and I will be sitting on my hands in their later in the season, surrounded by the rest of the Wall family massive. Now all my wife's family are from Canning Town and staunch West Ham. The wedding was interesting when someone thought playing 'Bubbles' was a good idea. |

Yes that is me. Known A from Leigh-on-Sea for 40 years Was a good pal of ND who died out in Thailand I do know SL. Took him to the Leicester game and went out with him after. Had to put him in a cab as he was ruined and could barely stand up. LOL I assume I have been in your company QPsyR, how would I know you? It is weird but was in the pub in Canary Wharf before the West Ham game and bumped into a couple of old faces and got chatting to them and in the space of 10 minutes found out both of them had lived in the Sidcup / Blackfen area in the past . Small world [Post edited 19 Jan 7:00]

After a particularly full on December on the booze one year I decided to give the old liver a rest and managed to do a dry January & February. Cant say I felt any better for giving up the booze and caned it again in March of that year.. so a relatively pointless exercise from a health perspective, but from a mental point of you, it proved that I could do it. |

I went to Pudding Mill Lane after the game and it took me 5 mins to get to the station from the ground. I then got a DLR to Poplar, changed for the DLR to Woolwich and then a bus home. I was walking down my street when my mate phoned to say he had just got into Stratford station. Pudding Mill Station was not that busy despite ABBA voyage traffic. Using Pudding Mill Station to go the one stop back to Stratford is the way to go for next years game as they are definitely going down. Stewarding was laughable outside. Was asked if I was West Ham or QPR at the the stairs and I just said Millwall (as I was was a bit pissed) and they were like ok, in you go. The three body searches was overkill and the last one at the turnstiles was bordering on sexual harassment. The layout of the ground is awful and that huge space between the lower & top tier is bizarre. Texting my West Ham mates through the game stating on numerous texts that their ground was awful, and they came back with, yeah but it holds 60K and less cramped than ours. All very well I said, but no good having 60k if you dont make any ffiing noise. Melts Great drink from 9am in The Ledger Building at West India Quay. Great to bump into a few old faces and catch up over quite a few beers. Good session and our support yesterday was brilliant. [Post edited 12 Jan 9:50]

Agreed. I would be bloody furious if that team was put out on Sunday, but hopefully they will not, otherwise both sets of fans might be raging at the owners / CEO on the day. |

Well judging by the Knees Up Mother Brown West Ham forum there is a planned red card protest due at the game on Sunday, but the WHAM fans are worried that there will not be many fans there to protest and are trying to encourage fans to attend. Saw one thread stating they have lost 30k previous season ticket holders and reading the posts they hate the 'bowl' as they call it. Lots of tourists and freebies are bulking the attendances. As I work in Stratford I thought I would have a stroll at lunchtime and can confirm it took me 6 and half minutes to get from Pudding Mill Lane (DLR) station to the away entrance. You can get the DLR from Stratford to Pudding Mill Lane - 1 stop, or from Lewisham / Canary Wharf coming in the other direction. Please note that there are two DLR platforms at Stratford - the other one goes to Woolwich via Canning Town and is not the one you want. |

You can, its expensive and can expect long delays of up to two hours to get out, due to road closures. There are signs in the car parks on match days warning patrons of the expected delays in leaving |

Oh they have ponced up the town centre, but the people who frequent it are a different breed. Crack den / pissed up down and outs, Somali gangs, it is quite the place to visit |

Re question 1: There are only a few bars in Westfield, they are all shit and overpriced. Will be full of West Ham. Usually queues to get in them. Avoid like the plague. There are a couple of pubs in old Stratford, but again would avoid like the plague. Drink in Hackney Wick or Leyton and then travel in would be my advice. It will definitely be quicker to go back to Leyton than try and use Stratford. Queues of up to an hour to get back into Stratford station have been known in the past |

You can park in Westfield, but it is expensive and you can expect to wait two hours to get out the car park. They actually have signs up to warn of the delays. |
