Really?

Well that's even worse for McCarthy. Only one thing worse than being an uninformed fool and that's being an informed fool.

Watched the last 30 minutes of Ireland's game yesterday and couldn't agree more with the posts on here. Playing a right-footed player at left back is madness and show's McCarthy's laziness in terms of scouting. If manning had played we would have added balance, width in defence and attack and would have had a better chance of winning a game we needed to win. Williams coming on as a spare back at the end added insult to injury.

I've been more cautious on manning than most people on this board mostly because we haven't seen him play enough to really judge him, particularly at left back. However, if McCarthy had scouted him this season, even once, he should have picked him and played him. He's streets ahead of the other Irish left-backs and certainly ahead of an out-of-position right back.

It's ráiméas of the highest order.

Loved it.

And the old reliables of Lego, Subbuteo and Matchbox cars.

I think I would have loved Scalextric too if I wasn't so unbelievably sh1te at it. I could not slow down - crash, fumble, start again, full throttle, crash, fumble, start again....ah fugg it, where's me lego?

Tommy Smith Forever R interview on offish

On a broader point, I think we can safely say that there is less racism at QPR than at most clubs. If that wasn't the case many of us would have fought to change that.

I think many of us can tell tales of hearing and experiencing racism from Rangers fans, though, and let;s be truthful about that. Thankfully, such stories are in the context of being the exception rather than the rule.

If Lloyd-Hughes, or anyone else, talks about racism at Rangers then we should be listening to see if we can learn, and improve further. if she, or anyone else, thinks we should be doing more to attract a wider cross-section of society then we should also be listening. For my part, I have no idea what we do at present, or if we do anything at all.

Closing our ears to either conversation is the way to stagnation and apathy.

I'm very proud of Rangers and of my fellow fans, and I regard them to be a second family that I have known since 1971. But, as with my birth family, I'm not going to pretend that all of us are perfect angels all of the time. We know better than that.

I listened to the podcast and she certainly didn't say that "we're all racist now".

Another one in defence of Flo. I don't listen to every episode but I find her contributions interesting and intelligent.

I don't remember the racism comments exactly to be honest.

Ok, I googled BMF.

Now I know that you are talking about one of the following:-

Blazer Midget Football
Bristol Manor Farm
Brevet de Monieteur de Football
Black Mafia Family
Builders Merchant Foundation

Then, I thought look up who Wealdstone played tonight....

Got it...

Wealdstone 4 British Motorcycling Club 0

I would have had that down as a 2-1.

Sorry, Lazyfan.

Your post seems at odds with Sean Gallagher's tweet.

Is it that you think he's saying that there is no recall until January, or that you think he's saying no recall all season but that he's mistaken?

Antti's Six Knee Jerks: QPR 4 Blackburn 2
at 17:36 7 Oct 2019

Hugely enjoyable read as ever, Antti.

I agree with you on practically everything. I'd be higher on Scowen than you, I think. I gave him a seven - good tackles, good aggression, one assist, but some misplaced passes and they had as much joy as us in central midfield so I couldn't quite stretch to the eight I gave Manning, Eze and Chair.

Agree with you about the crowd. Strangely subdued until we went ahead. maybe a mixture of expectation and disbelief that our recent great football would lead to a better result than in the two previous games?

I used to really detest Mick McCarthy. He was brutal in his first spell as Irish manager. His shocking management of umpteen Irish players was historically bad, he was lazy in his selections, resentful when questioned about it, belligerent with the (largely sycophantic) Irish media and then - to cap it all off - he captained a Country without ever giving it the due respect of learning its national Anthem.

At club level he once publicly destroyed one of his Sunderland players for missing a penalty in a Play-Off Final shootout. This from a man who was quite proud that his teams never practiced penalties.

Over the years, though, I've watched him grow as a manager and I grew to actually like him, while still despising his football.

Calling up Williams over manning reminds me of the Mick McCarthy of old - lazy, poorly informed, poorly prepared. $hite.

The lad's a dose of scour.
