Our economy is in the sh*thouse, but Europe has been even worse since covid and Burnham wants to rejoin this basket case. |

I got treated to a hospitality/ticket at the Bournemouth v Sunderland game yesterday, and have to say, considering it was a must win for both teams, the atmosphere was pretty dire. Not much noise from the main Bournemouth end, and generally around the ground. There was probably 1500 Sunderland fans who were louder, but not much. On a good day at SMS we are miles above Bournemouth in terms of noise and atmosphere. |

'Thatcher selling off vast numbers of council built propertied at knock down prices for electoral advantage, under her Right to Buy scheme. Resulting now in many of those houses being owned by private landlords.' Thatcher passed The Housing Act 1988 which launched Housing Associations which in fact brought hundreds of thousands of affordable properties to rent onto the market on top of the then current council house building programme. But she allowed a million working class people to own their own homes over the years. |

Thanks for that. He's way above even Koeman (although it's tougher in the PL). That new contract needs to be signed ASAP. |

He had 3 bad games at the beginning of the season making some bad errors, which is why he was dropped for Wood, but credit to him he was good last night and Pompey. He's got to keep up that standard, and I hope he does as we really need a settled defence. |

Another nervy game, but we defended well to get over the line. Dobbin looked better, especially in a 442 playing with Larin, we need him to score though. Bree, Wellington and Jander really helped the team. Let's win on Sat and put WH to the sword. COYS |

I lived in South London for 25 years until recently, so I know what living in a multicultural area is like and I would say there is only a superficial cohesion, on the whole most people stick to their own race/religion and aren't really interested in mixing that much. And what is most representative of todays Britain are the towns and cities which are predominantly white, as white people still account for 80% of the population. Your multi-ethnic area is still in the minority category. |

He's talking about the recent Holborn and St Pancras by election. 20% of that constituency are Muslim. Labour and the Greens will do anything to garner their growing vote. Muslims are arriving in large numbers and averaging 3.8 kids to our 1.3. Wake up and smell the coffee. [Post edited 14 Oct 9:02]

A big sigh of relief. At last some common sense from the authorities, which shows was a ridiculous punishment we received from the EFL. Now we can get back to business and win the league. |
 | Forum Reply | The Wait Goes On at 09:59 1 Oct 2026
'Eckert was not punished at that time' Tonda has been seriously punished by the EFL, he has been denied millions in expected pay not being able to compete in the final, if he had won that game, which was a distinct possibility, he's missed out on a new contract. Even if he had lost the final he would have received a lucrative new contract. He has been punished professionally because his team has been weakened by players leaving. The club has been punished but so has Tonda. |

What Tonda did last season was extraordinary, we haven't had a coach like him since Poch and Koeman. How long will we have to wait for the next one? Even if it's a long ban, keep him on, are there any vacancies for groundsmen? |

You must know over several years now 22 has proved to be one of the biggest belle's on this site and deserves a lot more banter than he currently receives. Hedgend's jibes crack me up, keep it going mush. |

Keep Tonda at all costs. We didn't win today because we have not replaced Ross Stewart, that's down to the owners. |
