It could have gone either way in a last ten minutes which were just as hectic as the rest of the game.
Ok, so Brown missed a great opportunity, but they had one cleared off the line when it looked easier to score and Waller had to make a stunning save as well.
How drained the players are though, both physically and mentally, with another game on Saturday is anybody’s guess.
If Tobi and Taylor are both on the injured list now as well as all the others in the treatment room queue then we’re down to the bare bones at weekend.
Perhaps the other alternative to playing Beckwith at leftback is to pick Sherring at right back and move Tasker back to the left? |

I just thought he looked more comfortable at centreback last night.
It’s all opinion of course; compared with the likes of Tasker and Moss I don’t really feel he offers much going forward from fullback although I also agree with the offside incident last night.
He also managed to get out jumped in the air to long diagonal balls last Saturday.
Anyway, as you say, he’s way down the pecking order. |

The game itself didn’t really teach us anything that we didn’t already know.
We’re really short of defensive cover.
Sherring is much better at centre back than on the flanks.
Tobi is a neat and tidy footballer but his first instinct when playing leftback is to pass sideways or backwards. I’m not sure how he’d cope if he was up against a Hayes type winger who ran straight at him.
Hannant is not a fullback. Francis is a really composed footballer who can really knit a team together.
Poor old Mani is really struggling. Feel sorry for him. If a more effective replacement could be sourced I wouldn’t be surprised to see him sold in the January window. NL teams looking for a boost must be interested if he was available eg Carlisle. He must be on a biggish wage as well.
For the first half hour we looked pretty composed on the ball at the back; breakdowns only occurred when we tried to move the ball forward.
Once they’d scored those two quick goals and the early subs were made it was effectively game over.
Sorry for perhaps stating the obvious with the above.
There are always pluses.
Beckwith and Hayes got some minutes on the clock. The former especially must only have played the equivalent of two or three games all year.
Bradley impressed. He’s a natural footballer. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him go out on loan if and when the troops are all back in the New Year. The other lads showed some nice touches but we’re by and large outmuscled. Huddersfield played some youngsters but theirs were 19 and a couple of years older and so better developed physically. |

I also wondered if Hayes may have been offside but, having seen footage from more or less straight in line from the Main Stand, there’s a Swindon player playing him on.
Difficult to tell but it might even have been Ball. |

Be interesting to see who starts tomorrow especially in midfield where IW may have to start two from three of Gilmour, Adeeko and Francis which isn’t something that he probably thinks is ideal. |

Worth extending until the end of the season if you ask me and needs doing now.
There will be plenty of clubs after him when the transfer window opens if he continues in this vein.
He got an assist for Hayes’s goal but could anyone from the Pearl Street advise if it might have been going in anyway?
