Agents aren't going to waste their time unless they think there's a serious opportunity, ie they think they can find an offer big enough to tempt a club that has no plans to sell. My hunch, based only on the feeling that he'll be worth a lot more in a year, is that he'll stay. |

He can't have done because if he had the club would have taken the opportunity to fire him for cause. |

I know you're joshing but to be serious contracts at this level will be drafted and negotiated by experienced lawyers and probably very standardised. |

The club isn't going to break its contract with Cifuentes because that would result in legal action. There will be an early termination agreement of some sort and he'll be paid off. Who knows why his successor isn't being announced but it won't be because they can't - no club would sign a manager agreement that restricted it from appointing a successor given how common is that scenario. |

False argument (and a favourite one deployed against public ownership). If BR wasn't providing a decent service (playing along here, I don't know if that's supported by evidence) then it was much more likely the result of bad management and lack of investment. Current passenger numbers are also no indication that the service is any better - for a start the population is larger and social habits have changed. |

Yes and no. Rail is heavily subsidised and the only reason operators can make a profit. It's essentially a political decision to enrich private companies out of the public purse. The current government is taking the franchises back into public ownership as they expire, which I fully agree with. Whatever your views on free markets, I think it's outrageous for governments to hand over billions of our money to private companies to run industries that are essential public utlilities, and a key driver in rising inequality and political dissatisfaction. |

Not really. He's not the CEO or Chair, he appoints people to those positions to run the club and make decisions. He can override those decisions but most of the time he's going to trust them. |

It'll get done if I want it to, in one day. I might do, I might not. But people tell me this new guy is very good. I don't know but that's what I'm told. What I do know is that when I make it happen, if I make it happen, it will be beautiful. He'll be the most successful manager ever in the history of the world. No one will come close. And all because of me. In one day. |

A cross between Alfie Lloyd and Luke Amos might be a bit of a handful for me if I was trying to play football, but not for actual Championship footballers. |

Edit: replying to Mart "Ok , I’ll bite, as the usual suspects crying about ‘ITK’s go strangely quiet when it supports their point of view . Most of what I say is conjecture , not all, I have a slither of info coming my way , but not anything important , so I’ll take your word for it James . As I said before I’m all for people sharing stuff they’ve heard or whatever . It’s why most of us are here (not sure why a couple are ,but it’s up to them ) . But how do you know this ?" There's a lot of going around in circles on this thread! This isn't a secret. Ruben's the major shareholder, so he controls the board. [Post edited 19 Jun 13:31]

"I can get caught speeding at 32mph, pay my fine and the uplift on my insurance. Yet, someone else can drive a car they don't own, with no Tax, insurance or licence, get done and then pick up a small fine and points on the licence they don't actually have... " Not really true though, is it. No one is convicted for doing 32 and people caught doing all the above will be getting a lot more than a small fine. |

60+ for London residents and it's valid on everything (you have to pay 50% for the Thames water bus I think). |

You like your job and the people you work with but your boss is a control freak whose ambition outweighs his experience. Most in that situation will be looking at alternatives. |

This definitely means Wilder is the new manager. Nailed on. |

You can thank the mayor for this, Stow. As should all the over 60s in London who get to travel for free! |

Just heard the new manager will be announced shortly after Putin unilaterally withdraws from Ukraine and Israel agrees to a full Palestinian state. |

Never park anywhere without checking there's no sign you can't. Even if you park there every day. I learnt that lesson years ago after spending a couple of hours at The End (that was a club off New Oxford St for those of you even older than I am) while parked in a spot that had been fine until then only the find the wheel clamped at 2am - the f***ers had put in a 24 hour residential zone. |
