How many of this current Middlesex team were born in the county?You also have a lot of globetrotters,including South Africans,an Indian,a player from Pakistan,another from Zimbabwe.A fair few from Islington and Chelsea,which for cricket purposes are classed as part of Middlesex.
I haven’t checked the Kent squad but I guess their players aren’t all Kentish men or men of Kent.
If Middlesex actually owned Lords,rather than being only tenants,would they spend their profits on bringing better players in,or suffer in division 2 because the players weren’t good enough?
Surrey spend a lot of their money on the academy in order to bring through players for the county and the country,as most counties do,so I don’t get the jealousy of my county.Maybe I could understand it if they swept the board with trophies,but that certainly isn’t the case.They only do what every other county would do with the opportunities that they’ve been given. |

A bloke I used to work with had a virtually full size tattoo of Denis Wise on his back,and he even got him to sign it and got it added in ink.He never had any tattoos until he was about 35 and then couldn’t stop.He died from a heart attack in his very early 40’s. |

I haven’t got any tattoos,and I probably won’t ever get any.If I did succumb I think I’d get some lyrics from a song that means something to me.
I think they are addictive to certain people who have some and then want more and more.I suspect some people who can least afford them spend too much money on getting them.Once the tattoo shops start going out of business we can say we’re in trouble in this country. |

I have been avidly collecting the programmes for the last couple of years,but I seem to have an awful lot of duplicates and not too many missing ones from about 1970 onwards.
I pass some spares on but they don’t want 6 copies of the same programme.
They do run the programme fairs at the club in March so that’s might be an option for some people,but the hard work is getting them there if you don’t drive to the event. |

Try the DLR from pudding mill lane.I heard it was a lot quicker getting away from the dump than the 1 hour shuffle back to Stratford.
Luckily I’ll be away in Germany for the weekend so I won’t have to suffer any trouble this time. |
