That'll get lost in the "spoilt votes" section then.

One suggestion i propose is to make them live in east ham/upton park/plaistow /forest gate for 12 months and actually live among the people they purport to support while taking jemima khan, sir ian mckellan, emma thompson , lilly allen ,eddie izard and their colonic irrigation practitioner off their speed dial.(Those fair trade alfafa grape nuts are a such a burden to pass in a single bowel movement)

A split in the family here. Wifey continues as a conservative but I could not bring myself to vote for son of Douglas Hurd who is a pale shadow of his father. My postal vote went to UKIP for their policies, not the MP. Hopefully they can push Cameron into some form of 'coalition' and ensure a quick exit from Europe and a rapid closure of the open borders policy. I don't really believe it but pretty well anything would be better than Millipede and Ballsup as puppets of the Scottish cow.

Most likely government in my opinion is another Conservative/Liberal/ukip coalition with Nigel throwing a strop within three months and another election taking place.

I voted UKIP in the Euro elections but wasn't going to vote for them in this. However, it really annoys me that so many people don't 'get' or won't admit to 'getting' what UKIP is really saying. Ok if you don't agree with them, but get the point and deal with the point, don't just dismiss them as a load of barmy racists, because they make a valid point. If somebody else was making a more valid point about anything much at all then I'd vote for them, but it's a pretty bare cupboard I'm afraid.

As for the SNP leader, half the people that I speak to don't even realise that she's not standing for election at all. And of the party leaders only Cameron and Ed are guaranteed to get in. The rest of them are either not standing for election, have a good chance of losing in their seat or have no chance at all of wining a seat. So who will end up leading the alternatives to the big 2 in the House of commons is a question that hasn't been asked very often.

The other question that I don't understand is if say the Tories win the most seats and even with the Libs and DUP they don't have a majority, but they have far more seats than Labour on their own, then can Labour employ the SNP to get them into government? And if they do then what happens on the Commons votes upon which the SNP feels unable to vote as they are purely 'English' issues? Will the Tory alliance potentially beat Labour on all of those non-SNP votes, or even some of them? It seems a recipe for total chaos.

Maybe some people are using UKIP as a protest vote?

As there is no "none of the above" option to register your dissatisfaction so anyone who doesn't vote because they don't like any of the options, as opposed to just not giving a damn, is a lost opportunity to say so.

So, maybe by voting for UKIP it's also a way of saying to the mainstream parties "get your fking fingers out and actually listen to what people want” (not necessarily UKIP policies, they’re just the conduit).

The whole plan seems to be to cut immigration which is fine but they don't seem to have anything else. On the NHS it's about treating less immigrants to allow Brits to get seen, on finances it's give less money to foreign aid, all seems to be the same thing. I think they'll be a disaster but are going to get a lot of votes as immigration is a major topic that none of the other parties seem to be dealing with very well.

Well 75% of the people in the UK want to see less immigration so it's not exactly an outrageous thing to lead on with policy.

They have a manifesto full of other stuff as well though, so saying the only policy they have is less immigration is just not true.

It hardly seems worth arguing about - such a load of rubbish being spouted off all the time.

But you can hardly be a disaster with half a dozen MPs and i don't think that many people are voting for them as a government in waiting, but on immigration they are quite clearly raising issues which concern many people and which no other party wants to tackle.

For instance the other parties talk about the NHS 'budget' and more spending. Well there is actaully no proper budget for anything. A proper budget would start with some sort of estimate of population, working population, numbers requiring education and health care and so on. Then you put amounts into those numbers in terms of income and expenditure. The more people you have the more income you have and the more expenditure you have on different things, depending on the projections. That's a proper budget. This lot are just plucking figures from the sky and they don't fit into anything that resembles any sort of budget at all. For a start they'd have to predict population growth and nobody wants to do that of course, so they just chuck numbers around and hit and hope or whatever they feel like talking shite about on the day.
