Barnsley fan in peace.
Read Hills comments after your most recent game and he suggested he might have preexisting options available within the squad. He intimated that this could be someone who currently holds down another position. Thought of RNL straight away as he operated their for us albeit when Flicker was in charge after he took over from KH. Does he look upto sustaining 90 mins? Not seen or heard much from him this season - I saw he had resigned with you. |

Congratulations to you lads on the victory today - it was thoroughly deserved! Often, in games like this, the losing side can moan how badly they played but today credit has to be given to Rochdale as you were excellent all game. I was very impressed with how effective your whole team structure was and how organised and resolute you were out of possession.
As most Hill sides he has got you playing with a real energy and determination. Henderson, Mcdermott and Allen are very talented footballers but I was equally impressed with Rafferty's maturity in the holding role and Andrew's hold up play - deserved his MOTM.
Can't not mention Mcnulty who had his critics at Barnsley. He lead brilliantly from the back.
Genuinely hope you can keep a hold of your 'key players' this term and mount a serious play off charge. Hill and his staff have assembled an impressive side on limited funds. [Post edited 30 Aug 2015 1:05]

Good stuff! Very thankful for Hill to have given Stones the platform - also helped Paul Digby along, but injuries have held him back.
Sorry, yes heard about Cannon. Hill said he has the mentality for the Premiership - hopefully you will get value for money if/when you sell these lads. |

Hello, Barnsley fan in peace.
Cracking game in prospect I reckon - two teams who look to play the right way with plenty of young talent on display.
Heard lots of positive reviews about Jamie Allen but wondered what is the general consensus among Rochdale fans about Callum Camps and Scott Tanser?
After the rigors of Wednesday night I would be very happy with a point - either way I'm looking forward to seeing how Rochdale are doing under Hill at home as I missed the fixture at Spotland last season.

He's been linked with Southend, Coventry and ourselves. He fits the bill in terms of attributes and goals scored. Personally, I would still love us to sign Henderson but I would gladly have McLeod. |

I've seen his Herbal Life instagram pictures ;) Fair play to him if he can combine football with that.

His career prior to joining Colchester / Rochdale makes interesting reading. Seems to have drifted around for a while. |

Only time will tell with that one then mate. From what I have heard about him I'm sure he would compliment what we have in our squad - key thing is his experience too.
if any one can pull it out of him its Hill. He once said (when we were playing Blackpool) that he has ability to match Thomas Ince but he could easily find himself in non-league. Hope he kicks on for you this season. |

That's exactly the opinion I (and a lot of other Barnsley fans no doubt) had of RNL. Definite ability but as you say consistency is the key - suppose regular game time in a choice position will bring that out.
How highly is Henderson rated amongst the Rochdale faithful?
He has pulled out a number of good signings at the latter end of the transfer window hasn't he. Barnsley fans will disagree but Kennedy and Dawson for this level were very good free signings!
Never seizes to amaze me how he can turn a players fortunes round - Calvin Andrew in more recent times. I'm basing that on his goal contributions last season. |

Barnsley fan in peace.
We have reportedly made a bid of £400k for a league one striker. Some fans on our blog are suggesting that is Paddy Madden of Scunny. Just wondered what your thoughts were on this amount of money being offered for Henderson: is it realistic baring in mind he is entering the last year of his contract and he is 29?
Granted good players cost money.
Also, what do you think Hill has up his sleeve in terms of recruitment? I see he is looking for a few 'bargain shrewd buys' - he is the master of this!
Final one what are your thoughts on RNL?

Having read this forum for the duration of the season, I thought it was about time I became a member - be nice ;)
First of all, I would like to say congratulations on your excellent season. Did it surpass your expectations?
Also just a quick note on Mcnulty, I think that is a really shrewd piece of business by Hill - I always rated him at Barnsley.
