That is a really good film frome the beeb. Now showing on iplayer catch it if you can.

Gives a candid look behind the scenes of the Embassy world championships in the 80s. Surprisingly gritty stuff. Main storyline revolves around how Alex Higgins became so obsessed and jealous over the rise of Steve Davies,it pushed him over the edge and eventually destroyed his life with drink and drugs. Good convincing acting 8 out of 10.

My highlight of the film too

"A paranoid schizophrenic walks into a bar...."

This is Patches O'Houlihan saying "Take care of your balls, and they'll take care of you."

Dads Army....don't bother.

If you're expecting it to be as good as the TVs classic I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed.

4 out of 10 and that's being generous.

Saw it last night and while I might be a tad more generous and give it a 5 because it made me laugh a few times, I'm forced to agree that it wasn't a great film.

I left the cinema wondering why they'd bothered, to be honest. It was bound to draw comparisons with it's distinguished predecessor, and it's found wanting in almost every aspect.

You can't help looking at every actor and saying "that's not a very good impression of so and so". Tom Courtney in particular was hopeless as Corporal Jones. The only one who was vaguely good was Michael Gambon as Godfrey. Catherine ZJ was easy on the eye, and that was about it.

Save your money and buy a pint instead.
