The point being that his defence contained numerous holes in it.
The problem is rape convictions are incredibly low because the bar to prove guilt is almost impossible if it's not a violent "stranger" rape.
Ched's legal team team didn't prove him innocent. The prosecution didn't prove him guilty. There was a lot of doubt, lot of inconsistencies on the part of the defence, a lot of questionable things.
I'd say it's almost impossible in situations like this for a woman to prove she did not consent. | |
