I've just started watching 'Welcome to Wrexham'.
IIRC, Shaun Harvey had mixed reviews when he was with the Football League? He's painted as practically cuddly in the TV programme. |
I thought he and other S1 stalwarts had now been sidelined with diluted ambassadorial type roles now? Beneath the fluffy facade there's serious moneymen and investors pulling the strings now.
Notwithstanding all that, I can't see us winning - we've been too erratic and it's like Saturday is 1st game of season for us. On the other hand Wrexham have been easing into gear and are in the swing of things and looking at game 5. I'll say 3-1 to them. Another 4411 or 442 (as per the Julien interview) and Hayden should start - if he’s fit enough.
Tempting to have Saito play with Kone too, with Burrell as an impact sub. Or the reverse with Saito.
Back four wouldn’t change but I’d have Dembele in the bench.
Midfield would then be something like Field, Hayden and Varane plus one of Madsen or Vale. |  |

Having spoken about the need for adaptability it'll be interesting to see how we approach playing against wing backs, both opposition profiles I've read / listened to have mentioned that getting in behind them could be the best approach.
Having someone like Vale playing behind Kone, picking up second balls and working to slot balls in behind to Saito / Smyth / Dembele could work well. |  | | |

Can’t believe Burrell is playing on the wing. Could have had Kolli and Saito as per the last 30 mins against Charlton.
