| Five things about West Ham 13:09 - Oct 25 with 2477 views | PatfromPoole | 1. My first visit since the horrendous 3-0 defeat in 2018 under Mark Hughes. Swore I would never go back there again. Yesterday was slightly different…. 2. I do like the Howling Hops pub there near Hackney Wick station; went there before and after the game. Heaving, but plenty of bar staff, so all good. Weird thing going on with the sinks in the loos though, with a gap which leads through to the sinks in the ladies’ loos….. 3. Ridiculous number of security checks and ticket checks at the ground, including ticket checks at half-time. They are clearly on to people taking screenshot pics of digital tickets though. 4. Never seen a ground empty so quickly while the game was still going on. 5. Yesterday was a moment. The rest of the League should really fear us now. | |

| Five things about West Ham on 13:35 - Oct 25 with 2394 views | Wints76 | 1. My 4th visit there and have two wins and two defeats. Saints have won there 3 times in all so not too bad a record 2. Big fan of that Howling Hops, and there are several similar bars in the area. The queues for the 'Hot Girl Boxing' at the bar opposite as we left suggest there was all sorts of entertainment in the area if that is your thing 3. I don't think I have been in the Upper Tier before and was only there yesterday after losing my rag when buying the tickets using the awful Saints website on my phone. Now think it is actually the better view 4. The stadium emptied far quicker when we won 3-0 there on our first visit 5. The '15 minutes to kick off' recording from Ray Winstone was made to sound like Ronnie and Reggie were coming to collect their protection money | | | |

Ah, that was what the queue was for opposite Howling Hops..... (he says genuinely not realising what it was....)

From your previous post it seems there was scope for dubious behaviour involving gaps in sinks and the Ladies loos. "I have no idea how my phone (in video mode) was spotted in said gaps your honour".

1. I've been to the London Stadium 3 times now and this is the first win, but we'll worth waiting for. We were in the WH section next to Saints in the lower section, needless to say there was a lot of howling and swearing around me. 2. Enjoyed the Howling Hops too, chatted to few Saints fans in there. Didn't spot the entertainment opposite. 3. You can do a complete circular walk around the inner concourse so I guess that's why they check the tickets again before you sit down. 4. They were leaving in droves with 10 minutes to go. 5. Watched some WH YouTube blogs about the game later on..Best laugh I've had for years.

| Five things about West Ham on 21:23 - Oct 25 with 1602 views | SaintNick | 1. Yes the place is a nightmare and the stewards are clueless, I had my ticket on someone elses phone and couldnt get on to the seating area to with him in the crowd, you would think I was trying to break into Fort Knox the lengths they went to stop me walking on to the lower seating area without a ticket. They were threatening to throw me out for not having a ticket till he turned up. 2. I was going to go to howling Hops, but we started in a pub the other side of Hackney Wick station and it was so good that we stayed there drinking a selection of bottled German beers. 3. As I said in number 1 it was ridiculous 4. You are right there the ground was about 3/4 empty by the 75th minute and half empty by the 85th . they seemed to have little faith in their team. 5. They should fear us, but watching the highlights we got away with a lot, Peretz made some great saves, but also flapped a lot at crosses in the 6 yard box and missed some as well. | |

1. If coming to ground from Jubilee line, DLR Pudding Mill lane to Stratford (one stop) easiest way to get to and from the ground 2 Went to pubs in Borough Market before and near Waterloo after game, now over £7 a pint for a pint of bitter in both ! 3. Great support for once from both tiers of Saints supporters throughout the game 4. Great seeing so many West Ham fans leave so earlier, many very ungraciously in defeat, which made it even more enjoyable 5. Great team performance, and important win, at times backs against the wall, reminded me of Coventry last season, and Peretz display of Kelvin in our 1-0 win at Leeds in 2012

1 My third visit, 1 win, 1 lose previous. 2 First time in upper tier, only about 10 rows up thank God, would have needed oxygen if much higher, not a football stadium like Upton Park, no wonder their fans hate it.. 3 Got train 937 from HE, about 30 sovs with a railcard, couple of Cruzcampo on route, en route, 90 min to Waterloo, underground return only, 6£, outside ground by 1. Buying a foot long hotdog for a tenner in the Stadium was a schoolboy error tbh, Geoff Capes rip would have struggled to eat it and keep your hands and clothes clean, Nicks G coaches left 830 and got to West Ham at 230, I heard. Many Saints fans seemed to coming inafter Saints second goal , ?? 4 Two pints of lager for a shade under 10£ in Stadium wasn't to be missed up to 215so ended up with 5 pints before ko, glad Tonda didn't need me playing 2nd half. 5 Queued for about an hour after trek from ground to station, didn't get back to Waterloo at 645, where all trains back were delayed or cancelled with falling trees. Re divert to Pompey (great) with fallen trees on track past at Woking, I think, then diverted on diff route to Hedge End via Basingrad, Winch getting home about 10.15 A near 13 hour shift, worth it though [Post edited 26 Oct 11:16]

| Five things about West Ham on 11:34 - Oct 26 with 1000 views | PatfromPoole | I got home at 2.30am. Went to a Reytons gig at British Airways ARC, a new venue at Olympia. Lovely venue, except the cloakroom, which was a farce. Took over an hour to get our coats at the end of the gig, so didn't get out of there until just before midnight. Handily trains back from Clapham Junction were running OK. A great day. | |

| Five things about West Ham on 14:39 - Oct 26 with 785 views | Chesham_Saint | 1. Bloody awful walk from Stratford via the shopping centre - badly sign posted so had to ask a few Hammers fans the best way and I'm relatively local (based in Essex along with much of their core support it seems). 2. The security searching was completely OTT and getting out was shit too. 3. Good support from our fans (I was on the halfway line so was able to get a good gauge and view). 4. Go to admit I quite enjoy their ‘bubbles’ intro – it is quite rousing. Not so sure about the Ray Winston Kray twins style announcements though, but I guess we can’t really take the piss too much after the Shane Long version of OWTS and the marching band. 5. Policing the Millwall game is going to be a complete nightmare for plod in that soulless hinterland. | |

Edit required Nick - sounds like the ground filled up by a quarter in those 10 mins !! :-) 5. Still have to have a little dig at Peretz, despite his heroics. We all know what he is like, so why the need to snipe ? How did Bazunu get on this weekend ? Anyone make it back in time to see Ferocious Dog at the 1865 ? Absolutely brilliant gig.

It wasnt a dig at Peretz, I praised him up and said he was man of the match for the saves he made, i have given him full credit for his performances since the international break, but you can't overlook other areas of the game. I dont care about what Gavin Bazunu does now he has left the club, I only care about our own players performances
