I have just had the misfortune of watching him launching his campaign.

Oh my word.

Wholly bereft of ideas of how to actually get anything sorted out. No detail to anything. Unable to answer a straight question. Talked up free market economics and defended the financial services industry, (London’s that is of course). Talks in sound bites. Oafish I’ll informed chancer who in turn talks about Corbyn as a ‘danger to our way of life’.

You’re the danger Boris. The only redeeming factor he has is that can be funny. But do we want a fat Aryan comedian with a silver spoon up his rectum running the country? I’ll guarantee one thing. He will widen divisions in society and spur on the right wing extremists in his wake.

If this guy is the answer we’re asking the wrong questions.

Thought it would go down well.

Remember who his target audience is, other Tory MPs and the party members. It was a conference speech, no gaffs, no substance, bit of tub thumping, just what they want to hear.

‘Where there is harmony, may we bring discord. Where there is truth, may we bring error. Where there is faith, may we bring doubt. And where there is hope, may we bring despair’

Looks like he is spinning plates just to get the job, and worrying about which ones he will let crash later. Definitely leaving on October 31st, deal or no deal, being the main problem. Today was bluster and wiff waff.

The press conference was heavily stage managed and microphones taken immediately from the media to limit follow up questions. I didn`t hear him address one question directly. Back to his burrow now I presume.

Looks like the Conservative Party grandees are quite prepared to hold their noses and support the most morally bankrupt PM in our lifetime. It is hard to imagine there are any serious scandal-shaped icebergs out there big enough to sink him.

Drugs, infidelity, love child, conspiring with a criminal to cause GBH, dubious financial dealings whilst Mayor of London, high profile sackings due when caught lying, he has rode out all of them.

Sadly says a lot about the Conservative Party.

Dark days ahead in a Trumpy styly way...

It’s appalling.

It does say everything when the Conservative Party consider this oaf as their election winner. It’s even sadder that plenty of people will, free of the ability of rational thought, think he’s the man for them.

His first big statement is about cutting taxes for the rich. In this economic climate! It just shows how rotten they are.

Indeed it is H.

The Conservative Party MPs supporting Johnson have made a conscious decision to suspend Conservative traditional core family values in order to ensure that the next PM has a blue rosette.

Johnson is the man, in their opinion, to win the next election and that is all that matters.

Anyone who wants to dance around Johnson`s bonfire must do it in the knowledge that he is the antithesis of the values Conservatives have claimed as their own over the years.

But we`ve seen this happen recently with the Republican Party and the Christian denominations in America...

He is going to win isn’t he?

Then there will be a no deal BREXIT.

Then we will leave and things will get really bad.

Then there will be a general election which he will also win. Free market economics will rule. Public services will be cut, civil servants, watch out. The fat cats will purr and a nation of Alf Garnett's will take us back to Victorian times again. Gawd bless you Sir, doffing their caps to those that do them harm and loving them for it.

Well there isn’t a Tory love in on here but I tend to think Michael Portillo’s non endorsement of BJ as pm has to carry some weight. And for that, and many other reasons I agree he’s not the man for the job.

Who is is the next quandary though 🤔

The trouble is when elected in a safe seat they have a job for life no matter how incompetent they are. The Tories and Labour need a good clear out.

One way would be to make 2 parliaments the maximum term anyone can serve as an MP. I am sure there would still be enough candidates and just perhaps a more representative bunch than that we have today.

Example the Lib Dems. Almost total clear out.

The fun bit starts tomorrow. Who will be first to be voted out? I actually think that would be one hell of an achievement.

Boris looking like a very clear leader. That said, it’s never easy to predict who will pick up the votes from those whom exit.

Can I take this chance to applaud Esther McVey's achievement of finishing last. Even Lorraine Kelly will be impressed.

Seems it was all those lefties fault at GMTV

Think it's more to do with the fact no one likes you.

Heard someone on the radio saying Boris was "Churchillian" this morning. I hadn't noticed it before, but he does have a passing resemblance to the dog on the advert....

That was an affront to the nation.

You disingenuous smarmy lying b***ards.

Also I`m worried about what Rory is going to do with the tie he removed...

Hunt told some whoppers there. Political Porn 5 blokes & Emily Maitlis, and no one could rise to the occasion.

You do worry when Hunt says he will find the extra £30 billion he pledged (on corporation tax cuts or something or other) by "turbocharging the economy" and "increasing growth from 1.5 to 3%" and the person who asked the question thinks he gave the best answer.

Magic money tree?

Gove really has a hard on for Jeremy Corbyn too.

Whenever he has nothing constructive to say, which is most of the time and like all of them really, they instinctively start slagging Corbyn off. It’s like saying, ‘forget about how crap we are, hate Corbyn and elect one of us’. To me it’s an admission that they have nothing positive to contribute but we should all fear a Labour government above all else. Pathetic.

A really weak and turgid hour of my life I’m not getting back.

Kudos to Rory Stewart for being the only one to give an honest answer the the tax-cutting question. He got ridiculed for it though ... Obviously.

Stewart`s body language was really bad; he was often slumped and looking at the floor when the camera was off him. He was probably thinking "what am I doing with these f***wits."

Should join the LibDems.

By the way, I`ve been rather busy lately, is Chuka Umunna still there?
