I make it that 3 reserve matches have been cancelled.
It hardly seems worthwhile having a reserve team if they play so rarely.
Eardley and Donnolly have given interviews this week saying how great everything is but it stands to reason that the develoment squad players aren't going to develop if they don't get regular games. Shambles. | |

Another thing that's always irked me.
Surely, our home games should be played somewhere in Blackpool.
At a decent little venue and with a good wind on the right day I'm sure that a couple of thousand, or thereabouts, would go along to watch one or two of the more attractive reserve fixtures.
A lot of folk'd relish the opportunity to follow the development of our players. | |

It must be the match that was called off as hastily as it was rearranged - without anyone knowing about it.
Is the club trying to hack people off or does it come naturally?.

Holmes and Moffat On Target In Central League Cup Victory
Goals from Brad Holmes and Owen Moffat kept up Blackpool's 100 per cent record in the Central League Cup with a 2-0 victory at Carlisle United.Â
The pair scored either side of half-time to secure the points for Stephen Dobbie's Development Squad, who sit top of Group B with three wins from three games.Â
Lining up against a strong Carlisle side featuring some first-teamers at Brunton Park, the Seasiders controlled the fixture well and took the lead through Holmes in the 39th minute after good play from Harvey Hughes.Â
A defence-splitting pass from Jack Moore then teed up Moffat to race clear and double Blackpool's advantage in the second-half. The former Celtic winger was a tad unfortunate not to add to his tally when hitting the bar in the final stages.Â
Attentions now turn to a Central League outing away to Wrexham next Tuesday (6 December).Â

Report from the Tuesday afternoon home game
United finally got the second of their Central League Cup fixtures played on Tuesday afternoon following a number of postponements and false starts.
The Blues took the points from their first group fixture with a late goal from Sam Fishburn enough to secure the victory over Fleetwood.
And Blackpool had already registered wins over fellow group members Accrington and Fleetwood to put them in the driving seat heading into this encounter.
The nine first-team squad members were joined by Alex Potts and Ryan Carr, and it was Carr who created the first half chance as he battled for the ball out wide. His cross was nodded as far as Harris, but his 22-yard volley was charged down.
Blackpool looked dangerous when Francis used strength to get into the box after he'd muscled past two meaty tackles. He sent it across the face of goal but Idehen was on his toes and he helped it on his way.
More away pressure followed as Francis ghosted through a challenge before popping it with his instep to the unmarked Holmes. He put his boot through it but Idehen stood tall. It was recycled by Hughes and a low cutback had to be dealt with before Francis could pounce.
The Tangerines looked bright and they picked a way through as Trusty nudged the ball to Moffat, who had found a pocket of space. He spotted Lescott, and the pass invited the shot as the angle became acute. Kelly was beaten but it could only find the outside of the net.
Carlisle got forward in numbers from the goal kick and Senior was an outlet as he sprinted down the right flank. Cunningham had to punch as the bullet of a dipping ball threatened to find the roof of the net.
Kelly had work to do just before the half hour when Moffat spun away from Carr on the edge of the area. The forward took a touch but Barclay once again took the sting out of it and the big stopper was able to drop and calm things down.
United thought they'd opened the scoring when Devitt floated a lovely inswinging free kick into the mix. Sho-Silva met it on the jump but his downward header was clawed off the line by the diving Archie Cunningham.
A heavy tackle on Barclay saw him leave the pitch with 34 minutes played, with Dan Hill on as his replacement.Â
The lively Moffat chanced his arm with an attempted lob at the other end when he was put clean through by a hopeful ball over the top, but it lacked power and Kelly readjusted to pull it out of the sky.
Blackpool took the lead on 39 minutes when Hughes overlapped with the ball at his feet. A perfect delivery was snaffled up by Brad Holmes, who had started the move, with a shot on the slide that left Kelly with no chance.
Carlisle almost levelled on the break after Kelly had sprinted out of his area to challenge Holmes after he'd ridden a tackle to go clean through. It was worked to Stretton, but a ripping drive was deflected wide. The ball was kept alive from the corner but Sho-Silva looped a header from distance over the bar.
The Cumbrians looked up for it at the start of the second period and Harris dropped a shoulder to make room for a pass. Devitt put his laces through it from 19-yards but Cunningham got both hands behind it.
But an incisive pass from Moore in the middle of the park carved a path for Moffat to exploit, and he suddenly found himself with just the stopper to beat. He didn't disappoint with a neat finish into the bottom corner.
Blackpool kept things tight and Stretton was disappointed when he miscued a half chance after the ball had been worked his way. A low punt had Cunningham worried but he got down to stop it in its tracks.
Determination from Ryan Carr put him on the end of a good United move and his delivery deserved more as he whisked it into the area. It skipped up, begging to be put away, but Squires showed first to bring the moment to a close.
A brave block from Potts prevented Moffat from bagging a third, and Kelly was confortable as he watched the volley from the resulting corner from Holmes sail high over the target.
Visiting tails were up and Byron checked back as he got into the area, with two defenders on his back. Moffat aske for it, and a chip frpm 16-yards dropped late. The Blues were relieved to see it hit the bar and Nugent was able to scramble it away.

Report: Wrexham 3-1 Blackpool
Blackpool's unbeaten Central League run came to an end in a 3-1 defeat to Wrexham.
The Seasiders hit the woodwork early into the game as Dannen Francis put in another driving run out wide and delivered an awkward ball into the box that Ryan Austin diverted onto his own post.
The hosts almost took the lead as Dan Jones got the run on his marker, touched the ball in behind and blazed over in the vital moment.
Wrexham’s increased presence in the game told in the 24th minute as Kai Evans’ driven effort inside the area beat Stuart Moore to open the scoring.
Owen Moffat broke through moments later but his eventual effort was wayward.
Evans looked lively again for Wrexham but his powerful effort from range was well tipped over by Moore.
Jake Bickerstaff extended the Welsh side’s lead on the 33rd minute, breaking into the area and calmly dispatching into the bottom corner.
Blackpool pulled a goal back soon after as a swift passing move eventually found Donovan Lescott whose placed shot deflected past Rob Lainton.
HT: Wrexham 2-1 Blackpool
Joe Strawn replaced Owen Moffat early in the second half. After a more timid spell in the game, Zak Emmerson and Luke Mariette came on for Taylor Bowen and Donovan Lescott.
Moments later, Bickerstaff got his second of the game, slotting home inside the area in an otherwise uneventful second 45 minutes.
That was until, following Blackpool pressure, Wrexham were forced to clear the ball off the line in the final minutes.

Blackpool's development squad suffer first defeat of the season at the hands of Wrexham
Blackpool’s development squad suffered their first defeat of the season with a 3-1 reversal to Wrexham.
Stephen Dobbie’s side never managed to hit the heights of their impressive display against Carlisle United last week when they overcame an experienced outfit in comfortable fashion at Brunton Park.
Despite making a bright start and dominating the early exchanges, the Seasiders never managed to compose themselves after going a goal behind.
Dannen Francis was one of Blackpool’s rare bright sparks, putting Wrexham under pressure with his trickery down the right flank, but too many players were otherwise below-par.
It means the Seasiders now have seven points from their first four games of the campaign, having sat in second place ahead of this clash at the home of Nantwich Town FC.
There was some suggestion Blackpool might use this opportunity to hand some minutes to first-teamers as final preparation for Saturday’s game against Birmingham City.
But number three goalkeeper Stuart Moore was the only member of Michael Appleton’s squad to feature.

Instead, Dobbie largely kept faith with the same side that beat an experienced Carlisle United XI so convincingly in the Central League Cup last week.
The most notable absentee was Brad Holmes, who was still present watching the game from the stands despite not being named in the squad.
Nevertheless, the Seasiders otherwise carried on from where they left off last week, almost taking an early lead as soon as the six minute.
Skipper Tayt Trusty nearly created it, delivering a dangerous cross which Wrexham defender Ryan Austin could only divert onto his own post.
While the visitors dominated the early exchanges, Wrexham did briefly threaten when left-back Dan Jones blazed over after dancing past a couple of weak challenges.
The Welsh outfit took the lead midway through the first period, somewhat against the run of play, as Kai Evans’ weak effort somehow found its way past Moore.
It was tricky to tell if the shot took a deflection or bobbled before it went in, but Moore certainly could have done better.
The goal sparked a spell of pressure from the home side, as Evans tried his luck once again with a piledriver from the edge of the box, but on this occasion Moore was equal to it to help push the ball over his crossbar.
Defender Ryan Austin was left unmarked from the resulting corner but thankfully for Blackpool he could only direct his header wide.
Wrexham did end up doubling their lead 10 minutes before the interval and it was another sloppy goal to concede from Blackpool’s point of view.
Jake Bickerstaff was given far too much time and space to control the ball and turn in the box before rifling a low shot across Moore and into the far corner.
Pool were able to reduce the deficit shortly afterwards in somewhat fortuitous circumstances as Donovan Lescott’s side-footed effort took a heavy deflection to wrong foot the goalkeeper and nestle in the opposite side of goal.
Owen Moffat, who was holding the bottom of his back late into the first-half, was subbed off three minutes into the second period to be replaced by Joe Strawn.
Pool were given a let-off a few minutes later when the unmarked Scott Butler side-footed over after a deep corner into the box evaded everyone.
Trusty had Blackpool’s first chance of the second-half, seeing a shot well blocked after being teed up by Dannen Francis on the edge of the box.
Wrexham ended up restoring their two-goal lead though just after the hour mark when Bickerstaff added his second, getting past Alex Lankshear too easily before slotting past Moore.
Blackpool saw plenty of the ball in the final stages but Wrexham were largely happy to sit off the visitors and see out the remainder of the game.
