I'm sure many a fan on here has spent time with a QPR player either autograph hunting as a kid, or later at meet and greets, or even sat beside them in the stands. Would anyone care to share?
As a kid I once asked Lee Harper to sign my programme whilst he was warming up before an away game at Oxford (I think). He jogged over, grabbed my marker, ignored the outstretched hand holding the programme and scribbled on my brand new Away Kit. I jumped back and told him that I wanted the programme signed whilst pawing at the shirt like he'd spat coffee on it. I'd never seen a more confused look on a grown man's face before or since. I saw Sir Les at the Brit Awards many years ago, early 90's. It took me ages to pluck up the courage to talk to him but when I did, he was pleased to talk to someone about football as he seemed really out of place there and looked awkward. It was just a few weeks before our FA Cup game up at Old Trafford (lost 2-0, I think Sharpe got both) so we chatted about that for a couple of minutes.

1 - Mascot for Aylesbury United at home in the cup, taken on a tour before the match by Trevor Sinclair who wasn't playing that day. He gave me a home shirt with Ferdinand 9 on the back at about 2pm as a gift. Ten to three roles around and Les is storming about in the tunnel asking who had nicked his lucky shirt - of course it was in my back pack. Sinclair thought it was hilarious.
2 - Asked Sieb Dykstra for an autograph at an open day back in the day and he dropped both the book and the pen 
3 - Then there was this, at the POTY dinner, when a tired and emotional Matt Connolly told the LFW brigade he was "lost" and that "everybody has left me" so we took him under our wing.

anyone who has attended the kit sponsors do has had many painfully awkward moments with many players.
the odler ones were happy to chat with fans, the younger ones (led by Martin rowlands it has to be said) couldnt wait to get out of there and sat behind tables trying their best not to engage with supporters. | |

I met Gino Padula's dad on the tube in Malaga when I was living there. It was the day after we'd shamefully got rid of him to Forest. His old man said he never wanted to leave and absolutely loves QPR. Got both their email addresses and corresponded with Gino for a bit after that.
I was going to invite him back to England for the Leeds game last season but completely forgot in all the kerfuffle involving Ale's FA hearing!

I also remember Steve Slade being confused and almost angry that I asked him for two autographs. I thought he was joking at first but the moment turned awkward until I explained that it was for a friend.

Sitting in South Africa stand a few years back I was having a little rant about a certain player who'd gone off to Italy. You know the sort of thing, who's he think he is, never get a game for Sampdoria as long as he's got a hole in his Rs, as for all that I'll be back one day bollox, when suddenyl, this bloke tapped me on the shoulder and said, he's sitting behind me. Playing golf at perivale once, we were being told to get a move on by the group behind. One of them was Mark stein, we'd just lost to Chelsea the previous night, I told him he'd played well (he hadn't).to be fair it wasn't him having a go at us it was one of the guys he was with. | |

A couple of seasons back when I was in a corp box with my cousin (Leeds) when he asked me who to put money on for the first goal so I suggested Buz. So he went off and put £20 on it and low and behold he came up trumps. When we were leaving the boxes after the game and I was a bit merci beacoup, Buz was already changed and talking to some blonde in the reception area so I went straight up and told him that my cousin wanted to personally thank him for helping him at the bookies. When my cousin walked up and patted him on the shoulder Buz put out his hand and said "well I want 50% then!"
One Sat evening was in the local newsagents in Sarf Ruislip doing the lottery and next thing Gaz is in beside me buying some sweets. So we had a bit of banter about the band and playing locally and he offered up that actually he lived around the corner in The Fairway.
The following Sunday I was in the BP petrol garage in Sarf Ruislip and after filling up I was found I was standing behind Gaz again as we joined the queue at the same time. He said alright mate and I said who is stalking who here!. My little girl was with me and wanted to know who the hairy cool guy in the violent pink t-shirt was and I introduced him as one of the QPR players and she was well impressed. I think that was around the time that he first started helping out as assisting GiGi as I passed a comment to her that he could hear that he was actually trying to get the managers job on the quiet - little did I know and Gaz laughed.
So I have told this story before but I left out the ending as Gaz was still at the club, but when he went up to the till his card got declined a couple of times and he had to run out to the car to get cash off of his Mrs. He came back in and apologised for holding us up and I laughed and said that I thought that all our money troubles were supposed to be over now - and he laughed and said he hoped so and hoped it was a technical fault with his card and not a financial one.
As he pulled away and waved from the front of his Vauxhall Zafira, I thought - a Zafira - not very in keeping with the Wild Thing image!

Got taken into the dressing room after a game 1982, met all the players, got autorgraphs etc - Fenwick, Hazell, Currie, etc etc
Was also given Warren Neill's FA Cup replay shirt, signed by all that team.
Subsequently lost the shirt and autographs somewhere along the line. | |

I was playing golf with my Brother at West Ruislip in the late 70's,and as we both wasn't very good,we let a single player through us.It turned out to be Wilkins with hair.He didn't even say thank you.
We had our picture taken with Sir Les at a pub in Wandsworth as he a celebrity guest one lunchtime in about 91.
My worst ever experience was when my Daughter was picked to be a mascot for the Chelshite pre-season friendly in 2001.We got to meet the players in the tunnel before the game,and as most had just been signed,I didn't know a lot of them.But before then as we walked in through the reception,and went to go up the stairs,I said to my Daughter,"look there's Marcus Bignot walking down the stairs to meet us."
The man in the suit continued to the bottom of the stairs and said "I'm Clarke Carlisle actually."
To say my face turned a bright shade of red would be an understatement,and how could I explain to my 8 year old that I'd made a mistake like that.My wife still gives me grief about it when we see CC on the telly now.
It was worth it though for 90 mins that followed,and my wife was more embarrassed by my actions as the 3 goals flew in,and she said that she would never go to another football match with me ever again.Happy days.  | | | |

I bumped into Les Ferdinand at Highbury in the hallway for the boxes.
Ex used to work for a casino group who had a box at Highbury. I think we were watching a pre-season friendly against Inter Milan when Paul Ince had just signed for them and was playing.
Anyway said i was a QPR fan and then said a really stupid sentence.
At the time Les was dating/seeing Dani Behr, I had had a few and said something like good work on snagging Dani Behr.
"Thanks" . Dani Behr said appearing behind me.
I apologised and skulked off.

Ages ago (think the season after we lost that playoff final) I once saw Kevin Gallen in the gym in Acton. He was sitting in the changing rooms sorting out his shaving kit and I bounded over to shake his hand despite the fact that he was pretty much naked. Think he was a bit cheesed off and taken a back by having his personal space invaded by some over zealous teenager.

Wore my QPR top in Cuba, next to the pool. Some black guy came over and started chatting to me, telling me how he played for QPR..
Me - "what youth team or reserves?"
