Is it possible to have a second team

Publish their fixtures.

Keep an eye out for their results.

Learn the names of a few players.

Follow their seaon and league position.

They`ve signed 5 new players this pre-season - all of which previously played for the club!

Must be some kind of record.

Famous players (sort of):

David Norris (Leeds, Ipswich, Portsmouth etc).
Matty Blinkhorn (BFC)
Rhys Turner (various L2 clubs)

And the rest played for Morecambe or Barrow.

Fans favourite Paul `Mad Dog` Dawson - good for 15 yellows and 4 reds per season, but quality on the ball...

Remember one night in about 2002, talking to a guy in a pub in Morecambe, turned out to be Matty Blinkhorn's uncle.

Use to work with a guy who spent just about every spare minute travelling around watching non league football, so I sort of understand that.

What I don't understand is the FCF thing and/or having a favourite EPL team.

Was watching a game at Longridge Town last season and a fella next to me sparked up a conversation. He eventually told me he was from Worcester and he visited a different non league game each week, purely on a whim...

Hey Spud, perhaps he was a weirdo!!!!

And Red. Pubs in Morecambe - there has to be a reason, otherwise why do such a thing?

Whatever.

I'm well up for following Lancaster City's progress this year.

The league is as good as won, as South Shields have gone full-time pro I believe and paying big money (they`ve just signed Myles Boney from BFC he`s probably on more money!), and FC of Manchester have big support. One of them will win it, I imagine.

Think Lancaster may be in the play off places if Blinks can rediscover his shooting boots. They lacked goals from the two forwards last year, but all the midfield chipped in with 10 or so each to compensate.

They have a very good squad this year...

Edit to add: always liked `The Platform` in Morecambe...

Spell

Spud's right, was there for a gig at either The Platform or The Dome. As I think the pub was on the front, think it might have been Terrorvision at The Dome (really unusual venue). However could have been Placebo or Terrorvision or one of a number of gigs at The Platform around that time.

`The Platform` was a great little venue; I liked the fact that you just walked into the pub next door for a pint and then returned to your table with it. A very civilised place.

Saw a few bands there - Julian Cope (on his own) was a particularly good night. He did a lot of talking and had charisma to burn. Went on a whim with a regular music pal, neither of us were big fans of his beforehand, but both agreed it was one of the best gigs we have been to.

Only been to the Dome once (to see Australian Pink Floyd), can`t really remember it that well...

Lancaster are in the Northern Premier League, football's 7th tier.

As far as I can tell, the next friendly is Colne away on Saturday.

I don't know if they're still called Colne Dynamoes, or not.

I'll check the result out. It might be fun.

Young spud told me on Saturday that they may have a short notice friendly tomorrow night too, spell. Then they go on a `mini East Lancs tour` of Colne and Padiham.

Gimme 6!!!

No spectators allowed at the moment, of course...

Colne, the only place I know where everything is uphill (Great Blues festival though)

Let's hope a 35 year old Matty Blinkhorn bags a couple.

There is only one NPL team to follow for me . I will be down the Flamingo land Stadium occasionally if and when crowds allowed.

Good 0-1 win there for the Dolly Blues there last season, Imp.

They were flying at that stage, second in the League, I think.

The Flamingo Land Stadium. Is there a lot of pink?

As far as my Lancaster City credentials go, I lived in Skerton - Halton Road, by the river- for 2 or 3 years and I always WANTED to go and watch them but never did!!

I was there, I'd say, between 1990 and 1993.

Also, I've never understood how Morecambe could be a bigger, and better, team.

Nice around there spell; lovely walks at the Cook 0` Lune.

Saturday`s match at Colne is ALL TICKET !! With a 200 limit.

Might just tout mine outside the ground if the demand is high.

I wonder whether that has ever happened at a Colne game before...

Getting worried about Spud now.

He may have accidently crossed over into West Yorkshire and broken down near Todmorden.

Gutted spell!

Spent £5 on a ticket and young spud not in match day squad tomorrow (only taking 16 including trialists).

He has been told he will be starting against Padiham on Tuesday though.

A night trip to Padiham is probably worse though for me - on my own...
