Thommo breaks Leeds silence
at 13:24 2 Jun 2015

I think Thommo is an excellent Number Two and as much as he would love to become our next manager, sometimes it's better to be good at what you do rather than what you want to do. Would love him back and some of the 2007 and 2010 team just to try and recapture some of that special spirit we had around that time.

Isn't Hey Jude one of the longest songs in the history of the world? A bit like a search for a manager!!

McDonald or Oyston don't seem in a rush!
at 13:21 2 Jun 2015

HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that ex-West Ham assistant boss Neil McDonald is set for talks with Blackpool over the vacant manager's job.

McDonald is currently out of work after leaving West Ham along with Sam Allardyce straight after the final game of the season at Newcastle.

The 49-year-old is thought to be keen to take up a management role in his own right with Allardyce believed to be considering taking a break from football before returning to the dugout.

McDonald has primarily been an assistant manager to Allardyce, with the pair having worked together at Bolton, Blackburn and West Ham.

McDonald's first experience of being a manager was when he took charge of Carlisle for one season in 2006-07 before a brief spell at Swedish club Ostersunds.

The former Newcastle and Everton defender is expected to hold talks with Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston this week about succeeding Lee Clark at Bloomfield Road following his departure at the end of last season.

Oyston has made McDonald his top choice to take charge at Blackpool as they look to put a disastrous Championship campaign behind them and mount a bid for promotion from League One next season.

Anyone think O'Hara will return next season
at 14:24 1 Jun 2015

Scratching - think it's fair to say you're not risking a decapitation by sticking your neck out with those predictions - am prepared to do the customary lowering of the trousers in a certain well known retailers shop window if half of those four are playing for us on the opening day!

Kind regards and sympathies to Chris and his family - always thought he would take over the reigns at BFC (his son) with his FA involvement - wonder what Chris SNR's thoughts on all that's going on were towards the end. Sad day for everyone in tangerine.

FA reject Oyston explanation
at 16:36 30 May 2015

From the Mail: Karl Oyston is facing severe punishment by the FA after they threw out his appeal for misconduct.
The Blackpool chairman argued his charge was unlawful and that text messages sent to a supporter, in which he labelled him a 'retard', were private.
That was rejected by the FA, who are likely to ban Oyston from football activities in the coming weeks.

Does this mean he can't make transfers?!

Gazette - Pool fans tell Oyston: Back next boss or go

Don't think Glenn is involved anymore but in truth if he did say those words it's a bit naive - when had Karl ever backed one of his managers?

Graham Westley or Neil McDonald

I'd give McDonald a go - football man who must have a few connections in the game - given the Westley alternative I'd take Ronald McDonald!

How many seasons will it take us to get out of League One
at 05:22 27 May 2015

Agree with Straighters - most of our meteroric rise has been down to the right manager and not the right Chairman - get that appointment right and we could go up again but knowing KO another duffer is on the way!

Too early to predict next season's League One Champions?

I would say Wigan will be up there, can see Sheffield United going for it in a Bristol City type way and throwing cash at it and maybe you'll get the resurgence of teams like Coventry?

Expectations for next season
at 17:46 26 May 2015

This appointment will be very telling for lots of reasons and for me it's where we are when we get to pre-season which will determine the season we have. Not only is the manager crucial but he has to make those half dozen key signings which will determine for me whether we will be one of the fore runners or one of the also rans. I'd still love for O'Hara to come back to us but we need a Beckford, a Wilbraham or a player who will make a difference in this league. Score your way out of the league would be my philosophy and so let's see what happens!

Can the NAPM who travel away complain if we're crap?
at 11:05 26 May 2015

When I was going to Bloomfield Road 20 years ago I always used to persuade myself that my entrance fee was going to a player I liked and not some idiot. So last season my entrance fee went to O'Hara and none of it when in the wage packets of most of the other incompetents!

How much did we get in the end for Tom Ince?
at 11:04 26 May 2015

There is a line of thought which would say that Ince and Phillips money along with various others bits of compo from McGahey etc will cover this season's wage bill alone. What amazes me if that when KOKO knows there is a profit margin to be made on selling on youngsters that he lets them go for a miserly compensation fee rather than nurture them!

I think the problem with the title of the o/p post is whether you pay to watch us at home or not we're all Blackpool fans and we all know how much the club has earned. So the simple answer is yes they can complain if we're crap because it should never have got to this stage.
