Transfer deadline day 14:13 - Jan 29 with 3181 viewsburnsieespana

Strong rumour from Football League World is Lincoln want Bramall.
Can't be think it would be a good move as they already have two left backs but guess we will let him go as talking of a transfer fee and his contract appears to he up at the season end.

Interesting move, Josh Doherty gives Clampin some competition for left back. Played at U17, U19 and U21 level for N Ireland, and started all three games against us last season. Bizarre trivia, Crawley’s record home attendances last season in the league and cups were both against the U’s.

This is utter bollox. Bramall was our most effective wide attacker. Harriott, Senior and Poku disappointing. We dumped four quality players on budgetary grounds, now invite one back. We dispose of our most physical striker to replace him with one that can't get off the bench except for a few minutes. You couldn't make this up.

Imagine free kicks in the hands of Harriott, Poku or Senior. Row ZZ or corner flag.

Humes Out!

I am rather more positive as feel we needed to shake things up and Cohen has not been as effective this season and would have gone for nowt at season end.
Pleased Nouble back and Docherty has decent experience. Maybe more defensive minded so will allow Welch to do the attacking from the back whereas in recent games he has been a tad sidelined as we needed to be more defensive at the back.
Not a bad days work is my thought and we can't complain that the club have done nothing to shake things up a bit but, as ever only time will tell.

Come on Noah, clearly these decisions are still on budgetary grounds. Norris cut one of the largest salaries off our wage bill, replaced by Oteh on loan (QPR paying most of his salary), and selling Cohen not only saved another salary, but we got cash too - we can, after all, only sell those that others want to buy. Don’t know what we spent on Wiredu, but given the late addition to the agreement with Charlton, I suspect not much/ nothing at all. Big Frank comes back on loan, so Plymouth will still be covering a proportion of his salary, and Josh won’t have cost anything either.

You’ve got to accentuate the positive chap.

Been accentuating the positive ever since relegation from the Championship. But from the day that Humes was appointed as DoF having been a failed manager we have been in a downward slide. We have now almost reached Rock Bottom. Cowling has to act.

Lets see SB play all three newbies tomorrow at Salford.

Enough of the messing about.
Assuming thta Stevenson and Gerken are out I would go with:

George

Welch-Hayes Eastman Smith Doherty

Wiredu Chilvers Folivi

Harriott Brown

Nouble

Subs to be confirmed

When Stevenson and Pell return I would play all four in midfield

But please no Senior not if we want anything from the game.

I'm not sure that it would be wise to include the new signings in the starting line-up in our match tonight. it will, no doubt, take them a few weeks to adapt to the Humes/Ball innovative style of play.

Doherty has been playing reasonably regularly, so is probably match-fit (if we don’t start with Clampin). Not sure about Frank or Brendan though, they haven’t had too many starts recently so might be a bit of a stretch for the full 90 minutes tonight.

Funny thing is Southend fans blame lack of decent signings on lack of a dof!
Let us hope a good performance tonight.

Bramhall did precisely what is required, a floundering career, reignited with a season at the U’s and then moved on. Not always convincing in defensive duties, too many got goal side, or being a dead ball specialist, his powerful running and athleticism usually got him out of difficult situations. Best wishes in the next stage of his career.
What does resigning Big Frank tell you regards the set up of the club ? Wholehearted player who is already better than those signed since his release . Still cannot score from down the middle with his best work out wide, but a welcome addition.
Wiredu to replace Pell, Stevenson or both for next season, but more of a Comley clone .
Needed to reinforce left berth position with only Clampin available.
