I’m not into physics etc, but Shirley, light getting onto the pitch is an important thing? As it stands, excuse the pun, it’s casting a large shadow that is troublesome!

Anyways, most clubs have those grass UV light thingy's now.

The Baseball Ground is the one people remember but the John Robertson tributes showed the City Ground at its peak - a giant cow-pat with that deceptive thin crust. Forest did OK on it.

Birmingham has such a system to maintain the health of the pitch. A cheaper option than the roof but yeah, we need to do something to get enough light to that side of the pitch.

You'll swelter when it's hot and given the amount of pollution etc. in the air, it won't stay clear for long! Maybe some sort of roof retraction system, allowing both light and increasing airflow.

Yes, Preston's looked in a similar state to ours. Also noticed that a few clubs seem to have the same floodlighting issue we had a few years ago where the whole pitch isn't illuminated properly and it looks like some of the lights aren't working. Not sure if that's a cost cutting measure, but probably.

they do usually on the road behind the loft issue with them is keeping them maintained and also using he right type of uv buld at diff times during the year . i believe the ones we use are lets say areancient and we also dont enough to cover the pitch esp at this time of year . hat ever is going on with the pitch isnt due to lack of sunlight thats for sure esp as when it first was noticable we had had the midlest november and december for years ,

Must admit, it’s got the bounce of our artificial pitch and the bobble of a 1970’s pitch. Should use familiarity to our advantage.
