Stress free day and for the next few months
Then again hoping the bosses can strengthen the team to make a "serious" bid for promotion next year...and not the "teasing" they gave us this season before they went on holiday early.

There are a lot of high stakes games this weekend and it’s nice to be able to follow them as a (albeit biased) neutral.
The game at Worst Ham tomorrow is one of the biggest. If the Shammers win, it could stop one of their London rivals winning the PL and help send another down, but if they lose then they will probably go down. No pressure lads!
My favourites for the play-offs are:-
The Smoggies.
Stockport (to keep their ground as far away from us as possible!!).
Not bothered about L2, so any of the four.
Rochdale (proper league club).
South Shields
Torquay (again, proper league club).
Then there’s the World Cup and I don’t have a lot of hope, but following the monkey and the typewriter theory, we will win it again one day.

Spent yesterday afternoon with mates plotting viable matches to watch with beers in Bath - short answer, because of the late kick-offs there aren’t any for England (or Scotland) that would still allow everyone to get home. Not for the group stage anyway, things improve into the knockout rounds. As one of my mates is a Spireite, we weren’t allowed to use the W word, but I think I might get a Now TV pass for their first leg tonight.
Yes to Rochdale, but I’d be okay with plucky underdog Boreham Wood causing an upset - just so long as they don’t do a Bromley next season. |  |

Tough for Boreham Wood conceding a 97th minute equaliser, but that's football. York and Rochdale back in League 2 next season. Salford have the upper hand against Grimsby, and Chesterfield a lot to do to bounce back from a 1-0 home defeat against the Magpies. Ex-U's Dobra off injured in the first half of that game. | |

My first weekend of cricket scoring after two weekends away in Egypt.
Saturday, Essex Premier League Champions Colchester & East Essex bowled Chelmsford out for 113, then capitulated to 87 all out. This was upon a shocking dusty Chelmer Park pitch (maintained by the local council) that patently hadn’t seen water (or a roller) in some considerable time.
Sunday, Colchester scored 234 in the National Knock Out Cup before cheaply bowling out former champions, Saffron Walden. Could it be our year?
Next weekend, Colchester host Buckhurst Hill in Castle Park (start noon). Free admission and a decent bar with a selection of bottled real ales at cheap prices.
Kidderminster Harriers (my home town) getting promoted was uplifting. I hope they play ScumEnd midweek so I can cheer them on without missing a U’s fixture. |  | | |

I remember having a pie at Ashton Gate a few years ago and it looked the most disgusting creation. Gravy had oozed out of the top and burnt onto the pastry, but it turned out to be one of the best pies I've ever eaten. 10/10. All washed down with a Thatchers, when in Rome!!
The most suspect food must be the Parmo in a bun at the Riverside. I never plucked up enough courage to try one.
Apparently, a Parmo is a deep fried breaded piece of chicken or pork that is then covered in béchamel sauce and grilled cheese. i.e. a one meal clogged artery.
