Was overheard during his interview with Robbie Cowling....
"Why such formality now?" asked Eddie.
"Cos you are going cheep." replied Cowling
"But I've never had a proper contract before?"
"Too many past complaints from referees about your fowl play."
"Cash or cheque?"
"We will just add it to your Bill".
"Do I get any sickness leave?"
"Nope, line up for tweetment like everybody else (Roy Hodgson is now manager)
"When can I start?"
"In three months, when you get back from migrating south"
"Where's south?"
"The noisy end"
"Which way do I fly to then get back?"

Rowlands would be a fantastic player for us but his (lack of) fitness makes it untenable. Not sure how many games we've had since he signed but I think his first was at Yeovil (?) so probably between 15 and 20 of which he's started 6 and only finished 3 of those. If he's still available in August and would take very reduced "pay as you play" terms then it might be worth a punt but otherwise, no point. | | | |

I'm guessing that most of the contracts being offered don't match what the players are on at the moment. JW has made it clear that the offers arn't going to be on the table for long, so I guess he's being shrewd in trying to retain the existing squad within the budget he has available. | | | |
