Thank God. That's Ross Stewart off the hook. Some of us were beginning to think he was a bad signing.

What a crazy world - ISIS target Russia
at 12:47 26 Mar 2024

Those terrorists had some balls -although they probably don't have them now -to take that amount of torture and still not agree to say they were sent by Ukraine. Putin would have happily sacrificed a thousand young Russians if he could have got those 4 ISIS terrorists to say that in front of the cameras.

The bizarre thing about the so called 'fair play rules' is that they make the gap between the small clubs and the big ones even greater, whereas the way fair play rules operate in American sport evens things out and that's how it should be. One way they do this is to set an annual wage cap, which is the same for all clubs.

Saints Players You Have Met In Strange Surroundings
at 11:37 15 Mar 2024

In an Italian restaurant after a Saints v Norwich game, we were at a table next to Alan Ball, Graham and Kevin Bond. After a few bottles of Valpolicella, we all ended the singing OWTS, including Alan Ball, who'd recently been appointed manager of Portsmouth.

Red and White stripes - the kit of losers
at 11:19 15 Mar 2024

As with everything else, a statistical analysis has been done of this and it was found that solid colours, especially plain white or red, are the most successful colours in football.

For this reason, Don Revie changed Leeds' strip from blue and yellow to all white and Bill Shankley changed Liverpool's from red and white to all red.

There are various explanations but it is said that these colours make players look and feel more imposing. It also makes them easier to find when passing the ball. If you want to know more about it, you can Google it.

Mick Channon once knocked on my front door and asked if I wanted a free ticket for the next game.

What has happened to the Defence?
at 06:05 10 Mar 2024

Wasn't Bazunu's saves to shots ratio the worst in the Premier League last season? How is it in the Championship? It seems like we need at least 10 shots to score whereas the opposition only need 2.

Although it doesn't have as many tourist attractions as Rome, Milan is a very safe city. Most Italian cities are.

When in Rome…
at 23:28 7 Mar 2024

""We are aware of the bottles, coins and lighters being thrown by home supporters into the away end," said a Brighton statement.

"We have reported to Uefa and Italian Police and requested immediate action be taken."

Two Brighton & Hove Albion fans were stabbed in Rome before their side's match.

One fan said he was in a group who were attacked by about six people wearing balaclavas.

He added two friends were stabbed, with one remaining in hospital and told BBC Sussex he had been punched and kicked."

"The European Union's 2023 report highlights the security situation in cities. In Rome, only 38% of residents feel safe on the streets at night.... Rome was named the most dangerous city in Europe last year."

https://visitworld.today/blog/1947/the-safest-and-most-dangerous-cities-in-europ

Personally, although I like Italy and think that most Italian cities are wonderful, I don't like Rome, mainly because the Romans are generally not very nice people, especially in their attitude to foreigners. Most Italians would agree on that.

Team in red and white concede more than 9?

I'll edit that then. Let's face it, the more Leicester's record 10-0 league victory gets discussed, the better.

Don't tell me you don't know your own club's history:

"Record defeat
0-10 v Leicester City, Division One"

"The most remarkable game of the season came on 20 October 1928 in which Leicester thrashed Portsmouth 10-0, which still stands as Leicester's record league victory. The club's all-time record goalscorer Arthur Chandler netted an incredible six goals in the game."
