Loner-Gone!
Loner-Gone!

Keeper exit expected following Kenny arrival and Warnock pursuit of Rodolph Austin.

Andy Lonergan is expected to leave Leeds in the next 72 hours with Bolton his likely destination.

The Trotters have long been linked with the 28- year-old, Owen Coyle being a self- confessed admirer of the ex Preston man from Coyles days at Burnley.

Leeds reportedly rebuffed a bid last week from Bolton for Lonergan as it was apparently on the low side but even now reports in the local press are only quoting around £200,000 which would be a typical Leeds United giveaway fee as Lonergan is worth double that easily and at one stage Preston turned down £1.5m for him.

Paddy Kenny's long anticipated arrival has made Lonergan's exit more likely plus Warnock is clearly in need of funds to wheel and deal due to the protracted t- word (takeover- I'm sick to the back teeth of it!).

Rodolph Austin is the latest name in the frame and Warnock is believed to have had a £200,000 offer rejected by his Norweigan club SK Brann, but the ball is in United's court as Brann will lose the tough-tackling Jamaican international in December for no fee as his contract runs- out.

Bolton reportedly hope to push a deal through for Lonergan before next Tuesday so he can join their own pre-season tour of Scotland, so it seems likely that Lonergan will be taking the exit door and the high road from Leeds 11 and I will be sad to see him go.
