The sun reports Derby's interest in Jason Scotland - at £2 million

The Swans hit man has grabbed 29 goals this season - his debut year in the football league - and that kind of return is always likely to end in transfer speculation and interest.

Derby have been a major flop in the Premier League this season - gaining just one win - and have dropped back to the Championship amongst criticism on their lack of firepower.  And this is despite them spending £3m on Roberto Earnshaw last summer.

This is, of course, pure speculation from a newspaper not renowned for its accuracy at the best of times.  However, should the story prove to be factual it would test the resolve of Swansea whether they could hold onto their man and bearing in mind the recent speculation linking them with Lewin Nyatanga then it could put them in a strong position.

In addition there has been previous rumours of interest in Earnshaw who is believed to be heading out of Pride Park in the summer.

Either way it is just a rumour at the moment but proof that the silly season is upon us - let the rumour mill begin.
