![]() Wednesday, 30th Apr 2008 22:35 Jason Scotland and Paul Anderson are the fans choices at the player of the year awards Scotland was top man in three awards - top goalscorer, away player of the year and the much coveted player of the year award. The player of the year award is the one that was voted on by the supporters via the Evening Post, the Supporters Trust and also the club itself. Scotland was the clear winner of this ahead of club captain Garry Monk. In terms of away player of the year he was again the clear winner as voted for by the fans travelling with the official travel club and with 29 goals was the runaway leader in the top goalscorer stakes. There was recognition as well for club captain Garry Monk who was voted as player of the year by the players - one of the highest accolades a player can receive and more than just reward for his fantastic performances in defence this season. Liverpool's on loan winger Paul Anderson was - as widely expected - named as young player of the year following his great season on loan at the Liberty Stadium In addition to these awards, Owain Tudur Jones was named club man of the year whilst the Swans Trust award for Lifetime Achievement went to Swansea City club President Professor David Farmer. There was one special award made when manager Roberto Martinez was presented with an outstanding achievement award for his work in taking the Swans into the Championship at the first event.
