Connor Looks Set To Depart White Rock

Last season's joint leading scorer from open play was the subject of interest from the Quakers last month but the move appeared dead in the water as the League Two side were reluctant to part with a fee for the player who joined the Swans just over a year ago from Rochdale.

However, it is now believed that Darlington have agreed a fee with us and that Connor will be allowed to leave.

With the arrival of Adebayo Akinfenwa to replace that of the injury stricken James Thomas it was thought that maybe Jackett would not look to make changes within his strike force with the options of Trundle, Akinfenwa, Thorpe and Connor amongst others but it does now appear that he will be freeing up one of his recently announced squad numbers.

It also heightens the belief that a new player will soon be arriving at White Rock to boost that squad back up but there are no names in the frame publicly other than those speculated on by Swans supporters.

Fans firmly still believe that the midfield needs serious strengthening to cope with the vigours of a League One campaign whilst others will add to the debate that we still need an out and out goalscorer despite the 40 goal return of Lee Trundle over the past two seasons.

Quite what will happen if and when Connor goes remains to be seen but surely with the loss of his and Thommo's wages we can expect a new signing or two before the season kicks off on August 6?
