Rangel Declares Himself Fit For Plymouth

Angel Rangel has declared himself fit enough to compete for a starting place against Plymouth on Saturday

Rangel was a second half substitute during Saturday's win over Nottingham Forest at the Liberty and that was enough to allow him to declare himself ready to start again for the Swans against Plymouth in the televised clash Saturday tea time.

Rangel has been a missing part of the Swans starting line up since the back end of last season when injury caused him to miss the last few games.   Summer surgery meant him being an absentee from the start of this season and he has watched as Matty Collins has put in some impressive displays at right back.

But now Rangel is back and ready for action as he declares himself ready to challenge Collins for the right back position starting with the Swans next league clash - away at Plymouth.

Speaking to the Evening Post, Rangel said "It was great to be out there on Tuesday night against Brentford and also against Forest

"I was a little disappointed to miss the Charlton game but I went there to support the players because we are a team and I want the club to do well. But I felt very good today. Obviously I have missed some pre-season games because of my operation, but I am happy with my fitness now.

"I feel ready to play in the next game against Plymouth.

"We have a big squad here and everyone can play in the Championship

"There is very tough competition for the position I play.

"Matty Collins did well in Spain and Sweden and has started both league games.

"Alan Tate is also working very hard and is a good player, so I know what I have to do.

"I need to train hard all week and try to get my place back.

"Everyone wants to play but I will be ready if I am needed.

"Of course, I am disappointed if I don't start but I realise that we have a big squad.

"I have to wait for my chance and be patient.

"If I do not start at Plymouth then I will support my team-mates as much as I can."
