Planet Swans would like to wish John Hartson the very best in his recovery from cancer

The devastating news broke yesterday that Swans fan Hartson had developed testicular cancer, which had spread to his brain.

34 year old Hartson will undergo radiotherapy and chemotherapy at Swansea's Singleton Hospital in the next weeks and months.

Just a few weeks ago, the former Wales striker registered his interest in the then vacant managerial job at the Liberty Stadium.

On behalf of Planet Swans and Swansea fans, we would like to wish John best wishes in his recovery from cancer. We're all behind you!

A family statement read:

"All the family, and John's friends, are doing all we can to support him and praying that he will make a full recovery.

"John is getting excellent care from the oncologists at the hospital as he begins his treatment.

"John is a family man and we appreciate all the messages of support we have already received."
