![]() Friday, 30th Apr 2010 06:49 Dorus De Vries says that he doesn't care of the score on Sunday as long as the Swans win It has been a record breaking season for the Swansea City goalkeeper who has surpassed the club clean sheet's record and was recognised on Tuesday night with the Club Ambassador of the year award at the end of season awards dinner. However, he won't put his personal performance on Sunday ahead of the need for three points and told the Western Mail “I don’t care if we won 10-9, I really don’t “Goal difference does not matter any more, a victory is the most important thing. “There is no individual credit to be had, it’s only the team which can achieve the right things. “I would give up my record to get to the play-offs. There’s only one thing that matters and that’s making the play-offs. “It’s nice to break records during the season, but all you want to do is play at the highest level. “After Sheffield we were all gutted, it was a huge blow especially because of the way the game went, but it is down to us as a team to respond,” he said. “The big downside is that we don’t have it in our own hands anymore. We had it for so long, but now we go into the final game needing someone else to help us. “There’s still a chance, Blackpool have a tough game and we are still in with a shout. “We’ve got Doncaster at home and let’s get out there and finish the season with a bang. “We will give everything and hopefully get a good result, then we will see where that gets us. “It’s the last game in the league and we have to give our best, hopefully that will be enough. “We are just going to go for it. “I remember all the pundits saying Swansea were going to finish the Championship in 17th or 18th, but they didn’t look at the quality we had in the squad. They underestimated us. “It’s our final game of the season and we have the chance to go for a place in the Premiership, the biggest league in the world, so it is good. We are not fighting against relegation or anything like that, this is a good challenge. “We will give it our best shot and if we do we might deserve to be there, if not then we didn’t deserve to be there. At least we gave it one hell of a go.” Photo: Action Images via Reuters Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
