"Anxious" Brian desperate to avoid Ewood hurt.

Brian McDermott is desperate to appease the 7000 strong White Rose army who are set to march into East Lancashire on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds will take their biggest away following since 8000 travelled to Wigan in 2005 and McDermott told the Yorkshire Post: “I was out with Eddie Gray for a meal the other night. We got in a taxi and the first thing the taxi driver said was ‘I can’t wait for Blackburn, I’m going to the game.’

“It seems like everyone’s going to the game and we’ve got a massive following with us.

“What I like is that everyone’s really looking forward to the game. It’s great for us to be going there with so much support behind one goal because I know how they can be.

“You always want to do well for them but that’s especially true away from home because of the travel and the costs involved.

“We went to Reading on a Wednesday night and got beat in the 97th minute. That hurts and it hurts the fans on the way home. It’s a long journey back when you’ve just been beaten in the 97th minute.

“I suppose that’s part of supporting a football club, the hurt we all go through, and it makes winning games even better. But when you travel, you want to win.”

Leeds have seen a late resurgence in Autumn form and have notched up three-wins on the spin, last weeks triumph over Middlesborough took us up to sixth.

McDermott has two ex Rovers men at his disposal again, fit again Stephen Warnock and El Hadji Diouf could come into contention against their former clubs, but with Danny Pugh playing so well after coming in from the cold surely it would be harsh for Warnock to dislodge him? Personally I was not that impressed with Warnock earlier this season when we played a flat back four.

I doubt that Diouf will dislodge McCormack, with seven goals in three games or Dexter Blackstock from the forward line so he may well have to make do with a place on the bench. Infact I expect us to be unchanged from last weekend's third straight win over the Smoggies.

For the hosts, they certainly have some more options up front following last weekends goalless draw with Reading. Rudy Gestede has joined them from Cardiff on-loan, DJ Campbell is back from suspension and they also have Ruben Rochina to choose from. This is before we consider the free scoring Jordan Rhodes who has slipped into the shadow of McCormack of late.

However, with 7000 Yorkshiremen roaring us on, how could we possibly lose? Looking back at our most recent record, we don't do too badly there as we have won four and drawn two of our last ten visits to Ewood Park. So I fancy us sneaking a 2-1 win and keeping up the feelgood factor.
