Enthusiasm Needed !!!
Thursday, 7th Aug 2014 15:23

Saints fans need a shot of enthusiasm in the next couple of days to let them know that this season can be a successful one.

With just over a week to go normally internet message boards would be buzzing with enthusiasm for the upcoming season, but after three months of negative speculation and bad news its rather quiet in the Saints internet community when it comes to excitement for the new season.

To be blunt Saints fans need some good news, they need it to come in quantity, they need it to come in quality, but more importantly they need it to come fast.

Having been promised some exciting signings it is now time for action, Ralph Krueger has said some fine words we want to see them turned into action.

With rumours abounding of issues of the negotiating skills of Les Reed, Ralph felt the need to defend him publicly and did so on more than one occasion recently, but the fact is its results that count and this is a results business, with money having been burning a hole in our pocket for the best part of six weeks now we need to see some it spent well, especially in several key areas we have failed to strengthen so far.

The supporters are waiting to be excited they are waiting to be enthused and in the main they really want to back our new board, but so far there is little to show to the supporters that has flooated their boat so to speak.

However there is nothing wrong that a signing or two wont put right in double quick time, so come on Saints ldets get this season started.

the news in Portugal is that Saints directors are here in Lisbon negotiating the purchase of Rojo. I gather that a new bid of 17m euros has been made following on from a first bid of 12m euros, and that Sporting are due to give an answer on this shortly. Rojo is only part owned by Sporting who have a 25 % stake in the player the rest being owned by a sports holding company. The club wants to clear 5 m from the sale, hence the haggling, but hopefully Saints are getting close to what the club is prepared to accept. There are no other bids for the player at present.

Doesn't buying a player who is part owned by a holding company cause all sorts of problems? Remembering the Carlos Tevez saga. I think you have to 100% own a player in this country so you have to buy out all of the rights on a player. So I guess Les Reed is going to have to spend a lot of time on this deal.
It does raise a lot of questions over the purchasing of players at Southampton. It always seems to take so long! Look at Newcastle, they've bought really well this summer. Riviere, De Jong, Ferreyra: all attackers that we could do with. Cabella will be class for them too.
Also, if we sign Forster then that will be great, but if we don't sign a centre back soon then we'll go to Liverpool with Fonte and Yoshida at the back and it doesn't matter who the goalkeeper is, you'll always concede with those two at the back.

Your right Nick it seems the gutter press are not really interested in whom we sign but who's leaving, so lets quietly get some quality in starting with Rojo then Vlaar then a goalkeeper i presume Forster followed by a double signing of front man and wide player but of good quality, to be honest i think there's lots of not very good teams in this league so we have more than a chance of doing well.coyr

Celtics goalkeeper, centre back and annoteer striker and we are sorted. Jordy Classie now for 9 million and Sniderlijn for 23million on deadline day to Spurs. À step up. Jordy is really good. And speent the last 2 seaspns with Pelle at Fyenoord. And sets up more than la lanna. Phoch was not a step up. I AMX still pissed off. about Adkins, I think we all are, but Koeman Will do a new 5 hear plan. And I am totally behind Katherine Leibhier. Ans I am dyslextic. And in Amsterdam.
