Shane Long To Miss Leicester Game
Thursday, 15th Oct 2015 16:16

Ronald Koeman has confirmed that Shane Long will miss the game against Leicester City with the ankle injury he picked up on International duty.

Shane Long will miss the visit of Leicester City after picking up an ankle injury in Poland whilst playing for the Republic of Ireland.

This is obviously a blow to Saints as long was in great form for his country not to mention in the Capital One Cup a few weeks ago, however it won't be a major problem as Long at best would have been on the bench on Saturday.

But Koeman also has Jay Rodriguez to call upon not to mention Juanmi who has shown that he has what it takes when called upon with his main problem being the quality of players in front of him rather than a lack of class.

Long of course scored in the visit of Leicester last season and Koeman confirmed he is likely to be out for between 2-4 weeks.

But Saints still have plenty of firepower on Saturday and Koeman will be glad that the international break saw so few injuries.
