Dale have brought in former Derby, Bristol City, Blackpool and Bradford striker Steve Davies. Cue a thousand snooker puns.

Playing well but not scoring whilst on top has been a feature of our early fixtures this season, so Keith Hill has addressed this with the signing of Steve Davies on a twelve month deal.

As always, there's a touch of the broken toy about this signing. Once a very decent Championship striker, he's career has perhaps stuttered in the past couple of years, but at just 28, there's plenty of time for Keith Hill to get the best out of him.

Most recently he had a spell at Bradford where he scored five times, including a goal against Dale.
