Crewe:
Crewe: "You Silly Moo!"
Tuesday, 24th Mar 2009 16:17

Our defeated opponents on Saturday reckon the linesman performed like a woman....well she was wasn't she?

If you thought that wingeing about the referee was a pastime exclusively reserved for plonkers like the Hull boss Phil Brown, then think again.

You know how it is though don't you? It takes me right back to my Sunday leagie days as a hapless manager of a pub football team...basically you are a pile of sh*t and having blamed everyone else, the last resort is the referee.

Any student of the game with half an inkling of knowledge will know that what-goes-around-comes-around and lets hope that Crewe's turn to get some dodgy decisions in their favour comes soon...like at MK Dons next Saturday would be nice.

However back to last weekend and its Amy Rayner who is taking all the flak. The 30-year-old Loughborough based "referee's assistant" (using the PC term of course) is at the centre of a massive row.

Crewe captain Julien Baudet said of Rayner's performance on Saturday "One person on that pitch was an absolute disgrace. The decisions she made were laughable."

It is not the first time Rayner has been on the receiving end of a male pelter. In 2006, former Luton boss Mike Newell was fined and forced to apologise to her after saying: "She shouldn't be here. I know that sounds sexist but I am sexist. This is not park football, so what are women doing here?".
