The numbers game

Perhaps done a little later than normal due to the amount of work that has had to go into getting us with something that resembles a squad, but yesterday saw the revelation of the numbers that Paul Simpson's side will be wearing during the 2010/11 campaign.

Four players from last season's squad have all kept their numbers (Owain Fon Williams, Paul Turnbull, James Vincent and Greg Tansey) with the rest of the players who were at Edgeley Park last season seemingly moving up one place with the numbers they will wear. The fans aren't represented in the squad list this time around as the number 12 shirt has been awarded to left sided player Adam Griffin and not the County faithful as has been the norm in recent years.

Of the summer signings, strikers Barry Conlon and George Donnelly have been given the number 9 & 10 shirts respectively, with right back Mark Lynch being given the number 2 shirt. Mansour Assoumani has been given the number 6 shirt with youngster Jordan Rose being handed the number 20 shirt.

Skipper Danny Swailes has been handed the number 5 shirt after he wore the number 24 shirt following his arrival from MK Dons in January.
