John Ward is believed to have tabled a bid for Aldershot Town's Marvin Morgan as he looks to add much needed strength to the U's frontline.

The striker, who has also been linked with Peterborough United, Tranmere Rovers and Swindon Town over the summer, netted the first goal in United's 2-1 defeat at the Recreation Ground on Saturday.

The 27-year-old scored 16 goals in 46 appearances (42 starts/4 subs) last season and has a career record of 89 goals in 219 games. He has previously played non-league football for Wealdstone, Yeading and Woking.
