Lets just forget Saturdays game and move on.

No point having a 'go' as the guys in charge know the seriousness of the situation. It was a breath of fresh air to hear MH on Sky Sports post match interview. He pulled no punches and made no excuses - unlike NW a year ago.

I will keep the faith!

Awful ,just awful, three triers, 8 passengers and a clueless bench

So much expectation and optimism.

I thought it was obvious (from very early on) that we needed to have two strikers.
We started the second half by pushing more players into their half but that just left us light at the back.

Credit to Swansea, they were clinical in front of goal.

Until Green gifted them the lead with what was their first real attack we looked in control. , park, tarbs, hoilet and samba were our best players on the day. Once the goal went in I would have changed our formation to two upfront straight away. Swansea a could have played their tippy tippy to vorm all day - hughesy take note we need two up front especially at home.

Mackie should have equalised and it would have been a different story sadly the back four melted a way as we lost all sense of shape and discipline. We need a leader at the back Mbiia or Chris samba.

By the time Hughes reacted they were three up and game over. And swp at right back?

We will get better and the faith remains

Possibly a blessing in disguise and should confirm, as we have all known, to Hughes that Hill Ferdinand Onouha and Green are not Premiership players. The one real thing that does my head in is that Hughes in his era was one of the best strikers in the world but he doesnt seem to rub off that great experience on our forward players. Wright Phillips Mackie Taarabt Diakite Zamora all need striker coaching just like they have at Tottenham in the Premier league you cannot afford that extra touch you need to hit the ball cleanly on target instinctively we dont apart from Cisse who never got himself in any position to yesterday. Maybe Hughes could spend an hour a day just showing them how to kick a ball at goal. Now we have Bosingwa we need a left back is Fabio going to be played solely in that position or Triore and neither are good defensively so its a bit of a worry. I am just so surprised that we havent secured a Centre Back early on because as all Rs fans were aware after last season it was our first priority and we must act really quickly to rectify the problem and seeing as we have only spent 1.5m nett lets spend some real money on some real quality at the back and as for Green I just dont know what can be done but just let him ride it out and hope he gets his confidence back but some of the mindless idiots in our crowd that heckle him dont help.

Behind any good defence lies a solid foundation know as a goalkeeper. This position is vital as it gives a defence confidence and ensures communication and concentration at all times. Confidence is the absolute key.

Take that away and the defence crumbles.

We saw that happen with Green in 2010 on the biggest stage of his career, yesterday the start of his biggest move to date, he again proved that he just simply ain't up to it, nothing against the bloke personally but as a goalkeeper he stinks the place out.

I stayed to the bitter end and clapped a team off who put in one of the worst sorry arsed performances I've ever had the misfortune to say money for and it will take me a long time to get over yesterday's pile of turd. They owe this club a game of a lifetime next week.

What can be said that hasn't already been said. Cisse as lone striker is best away from home when we tend to play more on the break. Two strikers at home (fulham pair).
Real concern was lack of midfielders running back to cover in the second half - especially as MH's team blah on about their tough conditioning and training regime!
Ounahu and green looked like rabbits caught in headlights - never seen such nervousness in two players - weird?

I 'm having my say and I hope to be proved wrong
Having watched this display with dismay and disbelief, I reminded myself of what I had said to friends and fellow fans during the summer
Too many new players to blend in - no continuity stability or maturity, uncomfortable with buying a new team every six months, this feeding frenzy has never sat well with me.

We have totally squandered the momentum from last season and this disaster will shake the confidence of the entire squad; we shall see wholesale changes in only the second game of the season - more doubt and uncertainty. Last year we lost 0-4 on ending day; but this was with a shedload of new players only acquired a week before - this shedload have been in place since May...

I disagree with the previous poster 's assertion of the manager's candid acceptance of blame. Where. I didn't hear Sparky taking any responsibility, I did hear " performance unacceptable, no positives" I must have missed the bit where he said " Poor selection, poor formation, poor tactics, poor substitutions - my fault, my job to fix it "

We have a disjointed collection of talented and expensive players - a bench with AJ, Zamora and SWP! It feels like Sparky has gone back to January - and we know he's a slow starter

Remember last year - poor start with new players, eventually it was the established players who stepped up and got us out of trouble

For all their perceived weaknesses, I would still rather see Helguson and Buzsaky with squad numbers than Dyer and SWP

Too much change, too much hype, too much complacency

Sparky fashioned a 3-0 drubbing over this team in the Spring; we've witnessed an 8 goal swing and despite this lengthy post, I still feel lost for words

I've had my say and I hope I'm proved wrong

With a game plan straight from Rorke's Drift, Nigel shocked everyone yesterday.
(Hold out lads, until the relief column comes)
When we saw the first team selection we were all shocked into silence and disbelief.
I admit I thought he's either gone nuts, or his written this game off.
FFS, WTF! I was thinking... this will be a massacre, and in front of the whole world of live TV..
But after 30 minutes of desperate defending, disciplined marking, and the odd probe forward, I started to think we could get lucky here.. Then the penalty save, my thoughts flashed to 1976.. and found myself muttering, hold on, hold on, FFS HOLD ON...
My dream was soon smashed to pieces however when an 'orrble argie scored at the near post from a blatant offside position.
I thought here comes the flood, we would surely fold like a pack of cards... but my skepticism was unworthy of the bravery shown in Nigels red and a touch of white army. They continued to hold out till halftime.
15 MINUTES REST
15 minutes to get a cuppa, have a quick pee, and to listen that out of work Satchel faces son patronise us on Sky...
Now I was ready for the battle..hold out lads, a 1-0 defeat away to the champions isn't that bad, I 'll take that now..HOLD OUT.
NO ONE BUT NO ONE had read the script as Nigel got Ricky ready.. I thought might as well let the lovable scouser have his Premier debut, he's waited so long bless him.
Ricky chants were heard from stands has entered the Premier stage for the first time .. all of us anticipating a 30 minute cameo from the journeyman.
But this man exploded on to the scene as Saints got their second wind, and then the impossible.. Saints fans, and players went delirious as the rest audience were gobsmacked after Rickie prove to be once again the goal poacher no1..
City fans and players stood shocked, even Nigel took a few seconds to realise..
Oh OK ..City will just stroll up the other end and right that...so they thought!
But the tatical genius Adkins hadn't finished, he sent on the experienced midfielder for the 17 year old teenager.. all thought to help out the beleaguered backline.
But the script was thrown away as he decided to have a pop at the England No1..GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL FFS GOALLLLLLLLLLLLL... I was screaming as I danced around the room.. I am sure the rest of Suffolk heard it, as my son was in two minds whether to call out the men in white coats.
2-1 up at City...end it now ref FFS..Stop it now please.
But dreams don't last 90 minutes..
But it wasn't a dream.. forget the final result. we had actually earned the respect of the rest of the Premier League and announced our return.
And I had seen a very astute, and brave tactician .. or a very lucky man...

I thought we did well and the elimination of basic mistakes in defence could have caused a real upset. However you have to take into account quality and the cost of the Man City forward line.
