Onwards and upwards.

Play offs are within sight now as incredible as that seems. We are certainly one of 16 clubs in wifh a chance of promotion. Good grief did I just say that.

Where were we this time of the play off season under Cooper, didn't we make a late run then. Last season we made a late run and only just fell short. But the problem with the Championship as Matos said is, win one game and you are looking at the play offs and loose one and you look at the relegation spots.

In the season that we beat Reading and by doing so pipped Forest after 31 games we were 9th on 46 pts. At the time ( game 31 )Forest were 8 pts in front of us. We only managed to pick up 6 pts in our next 5 games and were still 8pts behind Forest after 41 games. If we replicated our final 15 games of last season and add them on to this season ( eg our last 46 games )we would have finished 7th/8th last season 2pts off the PO's

The average points total for 6th place is 74 points. So that suggests we need 32 points from a possible 45.

That’s just over 2 points a game. Which isn’t a million miles away from what we’ve already achieved under Matos.

Very unlikely but we can dream.

It’s anither one of those late runs that just falls short for me ala Martin and Cooper.

I will add this is fact and not a queue to beat up a manger from two years ago. Enough has been said on that. It spoils threads.

It was only a few months ago that teams enjoyed coming to the Swansea.com thinking it was a good chance for an easy three points. We’ve made some strong teams look very average down here lately. Just need to sort our away form out and there’s always a chance.

I love reading positive posts when we've actually got something to be positive about. So, here's me being positive.

As things stand, even if we keep up the momentum we'll probably miss out on the play-offs. Just a statement of probability. I hope i'm wrong.

But we'll then have another very positive close season to look forward to. The owners WILL invest as much as they're allowed under PSR and we'll go into next season with a stronger more balanced squad and have a real go (hopefully Vitor will keep up the momentum unlike Alan Sheehan)..

That's not all. The owners will buy the stadium from the council and as part of the deal they'll agree that Tyler Morse will build a new hotel and a fandabidozey fanzone on the land behind the South Stand followed by the expansion which will be needed for the end of next season when we're promoted back to the PL.

There we are - positive

I don't think it will be 74 this season. Too many teams are too closely bunched. The easy end of season games against the mid table teams will be fewer this year.

Agreed, these teams that are bunched up are taking points off each other, if we can keep up this good form we can creep even closer to the play offs.
