| Swansea City v Preston North End : Match day thread on 06:46 - Feb 24 by jack247 | This is a fair concern. Pre-game it will be electric. Preston will be looking to make the game boring and take the crowd out of it. I’ve honestly no idea if it will be bouncing all night, or if it will go flat early in the game, particularly with a few thousand not really there for the football. Players have got to be professional and Matos will be lasered in on that, but it’s probably not the easiest thing to do in these circumstances. |
A full stadium on a Tuesday night…what’s not to enjoy? Hopefully it’ll be a great atmosphere, and some of the walk ups become regular fans. I’m pretty sure the team will rise to the occasion and give it their all. They are professional enough to realise this is a little different and will enjoy it. Hope the occasion doesn’t get to the ref!

To be fair, having thought about it at lot of the walk ups are probably Swans fans who just go now and then. May as well pick this game over any other. Get an early goal and get on top of them and it will be bouncing all night. I can’t wait

Yes…enjoy it. Nasty team Preston . Always enjoy beating them…and I’m positive we’ll do it tonight…only downside is I won’t be there. Never mind as long as we get 3pts I’ll be happy.

Their manager has already stated they will be aggressive from the off.

They will try and quiet us with there aggression to press from the off, but I can't see anything other than a win for us tonight. As many have said if this buzz and crowd and positivity doesn't motivate the players to get a win then we have 0 hope. No pressure lads 😂🎉🎉🎉

Where’s the guy that said Ronald must be good because Matos took him to the east bank to celebrate against Bristol ? Are you avin a larff ? The bloke is a total waste of a shirt. Nunes has to start for him in the 2nd half, or Eom for that matter. I’ve said it before, if we had 2 decent wide men, we’d be further up the table. Matos has to make changes, as they are looking so comfortable on the ball.

Agree on Nunes, but continue like this and we will be on the end of a 3-0. Ronald has had a mare, Tymon well off the pace. If Vipotnik hadn’t tried to con the ref with a penalty he would have had a tap in. Shocking. However, we have another half.

Heckingbottom's teams play one way. We needed our best ball players on from the start, frustrating!

I agree. I think the manager has to take a hit for that as some looked tired from the start. I really don’t understand why Yalcouye isnt starting more games as he brings lots of energy and aggression which we needed against this mob. We had enough chances in the second half to win it if we’d shown more quality in front of goal.

Will Galbraith now claim that deep lying midfield role to pull the strings in getting us playing good dangerous football in an around the opposition box, regardless of Fulton and Stamenic.

Totally agree regarding Yalcoye. He is always willing to run at the defence. I have no idea why he started Ronald. He needs a break.

| Swansea City v Preston North End : Match day thread on 22:23 - Feb 24 with 996 views | Dr_Winston | That first half performance left us with too much to do. Yalcouye and Nunes need to be starting. Key at RB too. Galbraith is wasted and a borderline risk there. Not sure what we wanted Walta to do and he didn't appear to know either. Wasn't nearly advanced enough if he was supposed to be the AM. Much better second half though and just about deserved a draw overall. | |

| Swansea City v Preston North End : Match day thread on 22:36 - Feb 24 with 929 views | wwcigne | Ben played some really poor balls tonight,Cam is better when he just does the simplest things, dealing with high balls etc , he also played some dodgy passes tonight ,it’s not really his game Widell and Yalcouye made a big difference when they came on,looking to turn forward every time and running at Preston ,Galbraith also has more influence on games when playing like he did second half Ronald struggled tonight,so frustrating to watch But we battled and got the goal we deserved ,should have been more with our second half chances but we didn’t lose, which was important COYS | | | |

I think you've got that just about spot on Dr W. If Matos doesn't start Yalcouye, Nunes & Galbraith in his midfield role after that second half performance then he will very much go down in my estimations. Fair play to him for taking the decision to change things at half time but for me the team that started the second half should start the next game. I also think you're right about Walta he should be in an advanced role not hovering around our half or the halfway line when we have possession.

| Swansea City v Preston North End : Match day thread on 23:49 - Feb 24 with 611 views | Boundy | All I can say is be grateful for the draw, I am. We looked positive going forward in the first 15-20 minutes but the amount of corners conceded and balls across the face of our goal was more than worrying and as we retreated into some sort of dream state the more I was wishing the half would finish. Preston and the ref did a job on us and although our changes made us more dynamic the more Preston every dark art to slow the game down at every opportunity. Time for bed but the walk back tonight could have been more negative except for Cullens impression of a salmon leaping . | |

And Galbraith should be the last name on the sheet for right back! That first half was cruel to watch in parts. Much better in the second half with Josh Key at full back and Galbraith in his rightful spot in midfield.

I still can’t decide whether that was a point gained or two dropped
