Just seen Bennie dropped to the bench for the Celtic game tonight, and some interesting comments about him from Dundee fans on the BBC..
"Alan: A good performance from both teams on a driech day. I really thought Dundee United played well but did get frustrated with Daniel Bennie who was caught on his heels too often not anticipating the moves from his teammates. Harsh offside decision too but overall really happy with the three points and the goals were top class too."
"Gordon: Aberdeen played as well as I've seen them, maybe they should get a "virus" every week. But United purred at times, played some lovely football and cut the Dons open easily. If Bennie could challenge and win the ball and look more interested then there'd be a player there. But Dylan Tait, Lyall Cameron and Zidane Iqbal look great and with Esselink and Forbes are knitting a formidable CB partnership. We live in hope, and dream." |

Another who never met him, but always enjoyed his posts, both music and QPR related. Very sad news.
RIP Ted |

Gutted only watched the second half, which wasn't the greatest half of football.
Poke missed an absolute sitter.. which would have made it 5.. not much else, very scrappy half and a nasty injury.
Good win, but being above Birmingham when we play them may have been a psychological edge |

Would like to see the same team as much as possible that started WetSpam..
Kolli up top again, didn't see anything from Kone to suggest he should start.
Kemper hopefully as didn't do the full 90 is able to start again.. and Kamara.
JCS would be the main doubt and I would be somewhat surprised to see him start again, but its been a fair few days, so maybe.
Its mad how far Adamson has come so quickly, I now hope he is ahead of Mad Ben, who I was starting to really like as well |

Reply | Bowen's tackle before the goal - good tackle or should have been called?
at 18:47 12 Oct 2026
I thought that was a very harsh yellow.. ball was borderline out, and Kemper wouldn't have known from his angle running towards goal, and who's to know if someone hears a whistle or not in a big stadium. Probably would have wasted more time had he trapped the ball left it and turned and ran back into position. |

When I used to play 11-aside (no significant level) and I had any kind of underlying knock or muscle injury, I much prefered to start the game, and go off if it didn't work out than get subbed on and risk pulling up and not being able to play on or subbed off.
Obviously it can happen to any player, but someone like Lamptey coming on as last sub in a game of that intensity did seem like quite a gamble, but I guess he must have been training well all week or more and hindsight makes it seem a lot more obvious perhaps.. |

Thought it was, then the replay made me think it was a fairly clean tackle.
Bowen had blood pouring down his face when he scored, so he should not have been on the pitch.. goal should have been dissallowed
"Under FIFA and IFAB rules, any player who is bleeding or has blood on their equipment must immediately leave the field of play." |

Seems Cirkin was an agreement with QPR he wouldn't play this last fixture..
"Cirkins, who plays for Queens Park Rangers, completed 90 minutes in each of Latvia’s first three matches of the international window and will sit this one out as per agreement with the club. "

Kamara came on at 46 minutes, so played a full half. 95% passing accuracy and Finland went on to win it, was against 10 men the from 22 minutes, so hopefully wasn't too strenuous for Glen.
Nice to see Varane get an international goal.. |
