He said it's very difficult to get going.
8 weeks behind in terms of preparation, we're having to use League games for fitness purposes. He wants more players but is resigned to not getting any of his initial targets.
Wants a fitness coach desperately and more medical staff to help cope with the injuries because players are picking up niggles due to them being under-prepared and having no recovery time. This is their 3rd game in 7 days today and they've not had a pre-season, so injuries will come.
He praised the fans and said they were good so far. By and large it paints a very depressing picture of what's going on behind the scenes.
Oyston obviously won't pay for a fitness coach or the medical people Riga has asked for, otherwise they'd be at the club wouldn't they? Cash rich we are, but that's just an illusion created by KO, as clearly none of the cash is going to be spent on the football club. It should be re-phrased that the Oystons are cash rich, while 'the club' is living in abject poverty.
I don't agree with TwoPhillips that Riga is getting his excuses in early or covering his back - there isn't a manager in the world who could concoct a winning side from the embers of Oystons act of arson which took place this summer.
I'm expecting nothing until at least September in terms of results. The performances might steadily improve, but i can't see us winning today sadly - and don't blame Riga or the players one bit. There's simply no excuses for what has happened over the past few months and it's nothing short of disgraceful. [Post edited 16 Aug 2014 10:56]

Well, its our 3rd game of the season, and you'd have thought we'd be making slow progressive steps.
However, we were worse at Shrewsbury than Forest, and the injuries are piling up, so we're actually going backwards at the moment.
Would be amazed if we got a point tomorrow. Feel desperately sorry for the players and manager. Cash rich, yet we're being run like we've not got a pot to pi55 in. |

Not exactly inspired by it to be honest, but as is the way, it would be unfair to comment before he's kicked a ball i guess.
On paper, it looks at best, like a cheap panic-buy and questionable recruitment for a Championship club. |

Engage in a decent online conversation / debate, with lots of interaction, banter and cross-section of opinions.
Look at the old site and the pages. It's alive and buzzing and has probably had more posts today than this place has had in its first week.
You can count them if you like. |

Been jousting with Robbie for over a decade i think.
Rarely agreed, often argued, but lets not forget that his posts on the old AVFTT were the ones which created the most replies, the most views and were often discussed in various other threads at length.
I may have thought he spoke a lot of bullshit at times, but because it was from BRR, it was bullshit worth listening to.

The backbone of the former AVFTT are staying put on the 'old' site.
It's been moderator free for 2 days now and there's nothing contentious on there at all that is worthy of editing or deleting.
As for this place, its early days yet, but thought-provoking dialogue is miles away because the mixture and balance of opinions isn't there. Herts posted tonight and within seconds BRR is all over him like a tramp on chips. You'll be suffocated into submission before long. I'll give this site 6 months at best.
