Just there last month & from media reports thought we were headed to disaster zone of homeless & drug addicts etc. Pleased to say while we saw glimpses it was way exaggerated & we loved our 3-4 days. Fine day definitely do harbour under Golden Gate & Alcatraz was worth the visit. We also did a SF Love Tour which is a couple of hours in a VW Combi van seeing the city - excellent guide & great way to see different districts to go back to. Did a walking food tour of Mission District & that’s another good way to see city - some excellent graffiti art & can see impact of tech money as walk a few blocks - gentrification at pace. Enjoy
Scoured the world for that list and even got to NZ with Paulsen. Wgtn are top of A league and he’s been great part of their success- couple of penalty saves as well. Surprised he’s 6 foot as looked little shorter to me. Sure will be a long shot but congrats to article author for their coverage
Like many on here he is the image of QPR that hooked me as a youngster - even from opposite side of the world. Brilliant player & unique character . Very sad news for morning here but also smiling at memories of him…
They’ve managed to keep it going with 2 seasons to follow of Bosch Legacy - no plot spoilers other than standards are maintained. Think latest iteration of True Detective with Jodie Foster looks good and if want couple of hours of outback Aussie true crime with very odd cast of characters check out Last Stop Larrimah on Netflix
Honestly think AB arrogance would be fair call other tournaments but expectations very low at start of tournament. Foster has been dead man walking for past year or two & pleased he goes out with head high. Let’s see who we’re playing next hour or two…
Mate that’s a blast from the past - from NZ perspective would add Mark Graham to league icons - 100% muscle and hard as nails. Richard Hadlee was wonderful part of my younger years in largely shite NZ side. Roger Federer - lucky enough to see at Aussie Open a few times and incredible while barely seeming to break a sweat. Usain Bolt - saw him win London 2012 & perfection as sprinter.
Really hard to get too excited in pool play & then for NZ side of draw it’s all on QF and not much difference winning or coming second in group as Ireland or Sth Africa the opponents. Ireland with better recent record against us and possibly favour SA despite the walloping they gave us at Twickenham. We stuffed them game prior and have decent record over past few years. Would like to see new team win it so Ireland or France but tough road to get there
Agreeing with two recent posts but do it in one post or risk building my part up… Traininvain bang on with Barry although have to watch from start - two eps to go.
And agree with Sydney that final season of Lasso is just honking the messages with volume at 11. Did enjoy first two seasons minus the brief football & guess will ride it out to end but not sure.
Lastly acknowledging the final of Succession - great writing & the cast clearly enjoying themselves with it. Best show in recent times for me
Cheers from NZ Clive. End of season debrief set down here and our Kiwi group largely brought together via this site. Group is full of miserable buggars so will be a fun lunch with so much to be angry about. Enjoy your break
Enjoyed it as well Brian. Check out his New Cue newsletter that has risen from ashes of Q - interviews & a recommendation for new music that hits NZ on a Sat morning. Definitely found some bands that would never have uncovered otherwise. Three of them involved so diverse picks.
You earned that Clive & still smiling down here. Mates have been alternating between taking the p*ss & then as got real even worse with pity. Most QPR result ever & great read - thanks!
We’re heading to Melbourne today for 3 days at tennis and up at 5am for flight - saw end of Murray match that kicked off night before - incredible. I’ve done a 2am finish years ago with Djokovic v Warwenka that went something like 15-13 in 5th set. They’ve stopped that happening now with tie break in 5th set but to still see this length of match…. God knows how Murray recovers for next game on Sat
