Aiming to get to London on Saturday in time to watch the Cup Final in a bar, but yeah, staying nowhere near Wembley.

Not least as it’s horrendously expensive anywhere near there this weekend…..

Bravo.

Sunday is NOT "a good day out"
at 08:26 23 May 2024

As the title says.

This is the biggest game for the club since Swansea away in May 2018.

This is a chance to cement a winning mentality and to shape the destiny of the club for the next 5-10 years.

Lose, and we risk being in the doldrums for a number of years, possibly overtaken by the shower up the road.

Win, and we could stabilise the club within the Prem and get back towards the heady days of Koeman.

I hate a lot about the Prem, particularly the detestable way that VAR sucks the joy out of the game.

However, to use a tent analogy, with the Prem the lesser of two evils is to be on the inside pissing out than on the outside pissing in.

Please do not go to the game on Sunday with the mentality that if we lose it has been a good day out. We have to be far better than that; Leeds fans will not be like that.

Roar the lads on to victory and get us out of the wilderness as a club.

We simply HAVE to win.

At the risk of being wildly over-aspirational and unrealistic.....

We need a winning mentality at this club.

Alan Pardew used to talk about it and he was spot on.

Winning a massive game like Sunday's game would be a bit of a game changer for me; so many times we have been gallant runners-up or losers.

To win on Sunday would be a step towards undoing that reputation and actually being known for winning something. And there is a trophy as well......

I think that we could be competitive in the Prem if we go up.

We obviously need to somehow keep Downes and Harwood-Bellis, and sign players of quality in a keeper, striker and left-back.

But the nucleus is there of a side which could have a good season in the Prem, bolstered by the confidence a Wembley win against one of the biggest clubs in England would bring.

Sunday is absolutely not "a good day out".

It is a big chance to re-shape the next 5 - 10 years for this club.

And now time for a lie-down, one suspects......

That would be sensible, I’d say.

I kid you not.

For the JPT Final in 2010, I got the first train from Poole at about 6.30am.

It was full by New Milton.

It then got so mentally full that it didn’t even stop at Southampton Central or Parkway, leaving thousands on both platforms.

This is why I am going up on Saturday.

I know I'm going back 25 years, but everybody stood for Dellhurst Park didn't they?

That was a similarly important occasion.

Would be good if everyone in our lower tier sections could stand up during the game, not just in the safe standing blocks.

Makes a heck of a difference, and gets fans more into the atmosphere. I expect Leeds fans will be doing this.

I noticed on Friday night that Block 4 all seemed to be stood up as well as Blocks 2 and 3.

I am now prepared for lots of replies from people saying they have paid for a seat to watch the game 🙄

Is it not the case that Leeds are the "home" team by virtue of having finished higher in the League?

Or is that just myth?

If Leeds were to wear their white kit, I would expect us to be in the black kit.

Stoke Sign Rotherham Keeper

It is a real shame.

But I suspect he wasn't cut out for the sexy triangles in our penalty area.

God knows why he has gone to Stoke though.

Leeds will go fast from the start.

They are at their best when they do that.

They have a lot of pace on the wings, particularly if Dan James plays.

We have to ride that out and be smart when our chances come.

If it’s 0-0 after half an hour and we still have our strongest side on the pitch (particularly Downes), I would be quite confident of winning.

Leeds fans who got tickets in the home sections at St. Mary’s for the game this season will have a history of attending Saints games.

No idea how many there were at that game, but there were a few.

At the risk of answering a different question, there does seem to be some concern about Leeds fans snapping up memberships.

It may well be a case of ringing the ticket office, painful though that will be at the moment.

Premier Inn has parking.

Might be getting the train up on the Saturday now though instead of driving…..
