Vale is a bit of a curate's egg unfortunately - but when he's good, he is good. In mitigation he's definitely not a like for like player with Madsen, playing in a midfield two, that's not going to work. But play him at the top of a midfield three or out wide, he should be fine. |

Ha was thinking that earlier! They have all the support staff available, cutting edge sports science, they play on pristine pitches in training and in matches, so why do they keep breaking down? I do still think the stupid five subs rule means they play at a higher intensity for longer over 90 minutes, but with things like yoga, pilates, calisthenics etc. are they not able to be more supple and avoid soft tissue injuries? |

Played centre mid with Birch in the promotion game at Hillsborough. 17 games for QPR so not really sure he should be in this list Decent player though, a very steady Eddie. |

Generally the West Midlands football grounds are great. Result sadly was not a surprise, but it's one game out of 46. Nice for them that they can get Liam Millar on loan. Of course as mentioned ad nauseam on this site, the biggest concern is the management of the players' fitness especially in-game. If things don't improve then Williams' position has to be untenable; but by all accounts him and Nourry are thick as thieves so it's a dangerous game our CEO is playing. Et tu, Christian? |

Scoring the first goal relatively early also helps. |

Excuse my ignorance, what was his role at the club? |

Yeah seems a silly rule to me - you've either got five subs to use, or you haven't. |

You might argue that with the approximation of a European Super League that the Champions League now looks like, it's already getting dull. |

Well who knows? But the main difference brought in by Covid is the five subs rule - meaning that physical intensity goes on for longer over the 90 minutes (these days even more e.g. 100 minutes last night!) and players are working at their limit for longer. Hence all the soft tissue injuries and them breaking down more often. |

Thought I had posted here but think forgot to click send... Like everything else in life nowadays, European football in particular is skewed to the 1% of clubs winning all the time and making as much money as possible. The days of the European Cup in the 70s and 80s, when you had a wide variety of clubs winning it, are long gone. Sad. |

Kudos to Nourry, Belk, whoever at the club for getting him in. Could well be the difference between making the play offs or not. Or dare we even dream of automatic promotion?? |
