Yes, the World Championships used to be held at Wembley Stadium until 1981. There were 90,000 crowds.
The grand prix system has replaced the individual world championships. I was at the first British Grand Prix, which was held in front of just a few thousand at Hackney Wick Stadium in 1995. For a few years they were at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, but they struggled to fill it, so the next one is going to be at Foxhall Stadium, Ipswich, which is just a small venue.
Southampton speedway was just a bit before my time, but I've been to most of the speedway stadiums, many of which have closed down. The sport is still big in Poland and Sweden though.
What's good about speedway is that it's cheap and friendly and one of the last bastions of old school working class entertainment. You can eat and drink at the tracks while watching it and even get to know the stars personally, as there's no big divide between the riders and the fans. But, sadly, most of the old tracks I knew, like Cradley Heath and Long Eaton, have closed. One of the last to close was the big Brandon Stadium at Coventry, in 2023. As has been mentioned, nearly all of the speedway stadiums were also used for greyhound racing.
This year was special because Robert Lambert became the first British world champion for 8 years. The Poles and Scandinavians have been dominant in recent years. You can watch every grand prix on TNT Sports. Some diehard British fans travel all over Europe.

It didn't affect Middlesbrough. The EFL said they didn't give Wrexham a points deduction because it didn't affect results. Neither did watching training sessions.
The Ipswich incident was just video taken by Eastleigh at their own stadium and shown to Saints. The Middlesbrough incident was Tonda asking the analysts if they could find out if Hayden Hackney was fit to play. We've never heard the details of the Oxford incident, but we lost that game.

Right then, I only went and done it! Below is the list of names that have been mentioned above. Certain names mentioned were patently ridiculous and debunked in subsequent posts, eg Hugh Grant. Some are stretching the definition of "famous" but I left them in. Others were too imprecise eg "the one out of Eternal" so I left them out too. The list was compiled over 6 years so some are now dead or their fame has waned but irrespective of that I think they count as Famous Rs.

Tonda certainly knows how to get Saints up for the big games. An outstanding performance against the most talented team in the league. Peretz, Stephens, Schlotterbeck, Bree, Ward-Prowse and all gave their best and showed real fighting spirit in tough conditions. Brilliant.
