Fearsomely in-form Boro too hot for QPR to handle – Report
at 13:22 15 Dec 2025

It’s explainable - we’ve been really really crap for a few years and therefore winning 2/3 in a week feels like a job well done and, as such, we enter the Harry Redknapp school of bonus games.

But it’s not acceptable - you’re playing Boro, they’re good but they’re not Pep’s Barcelona.

It could (should) have been a lot worse by HT. We were lucky they declared and should strive to be better than “we’ve already had a good week see you next Saturday”

Felt very 3-0 declared at 50 minutes on the box. Thought they were the best team we’ve played this season.

Good for the league that them and Cov look like runaway promotees.

And for all the ‘tinker man’ brigade out there - we should be rotating for these games. Every third game we look crap, not giving Hayden / Poku / Dembele etc run outs in these games is poor

Been torn apart on the wings. Both wingers and RND been awful, without much help from the centre. Granted they’re a much better team than us

Agree. Lots of justified criticism of the club for some own goals over last couple of years, but they’ve got 2 good managerial appointments in their pros column.

You don’t need to look very far in this league to see much more expensively assembled squads with very questionable managerial appointments at the moment

He’s one of the few EFL ‘content creators’ who knows their stuff. I’d agree with him on the building point. If we sustained a play off push it would be a big over achievement (even with the nature of the league this season). Aside from a couple of positions this team can stay together for a few seasons with the profile of player we’re signing and grow.

Madsen was excellent but Dunne has to be MOM for me. Good goal but absolutely dominant defensive display. He’s a CB, end of discussion.

QPR give West Brom both Burrells – Report
at 11:04 8 Dec 2025

Very fun. And not a game we would have won for a while (can you imagine Dykes Armstrong and Frey punishing teams like that).

Probably first time since the Wells-Eze-Chair-Bright foursome where you always feel we can hurt teams, with an equally suspect defence as MAGA Geoff and his gang of non defending defenders.

That said, streaky club + streaky manager feels like we might be in for a tough Christmas period. Portsmouth and WBA away look absolutely nailed on for 0 points against crap teams!

Goals win games so has to be Burrell, but he’s certainly the CM we originally thought we were signing now.

If you’d told me this time last year we’d be winning games with Madsen as CM in a 2, and he was firmly first choice in the position, I’d have laughed

Pound for pound best signing since Freeman. 9 goals already. But some of our recent non scoring strikers “never got service”, an argument firmly put to bed by Burrell

Any news on Sam Field?

A mad idea - help a young player out, who has a lot of noise to deal with off the pitch thanks to his “representatives”, by being open about his availability to stop people putting 2 and 2 together in the vacuum of information.

Or, you know, don’t mention he’s had injury problems the whole season until December once the narrative is set.

A lot on here were berating JS for being a “tinker man”. If anything CM hasn’t been rotated enough. Madsen looks tired and Varane is off it. By default, Hayden/Morgan should be getting more minutes for me.

None of them are performing to a level where they have to start (like Burrell), and you have a squad for a reason. Find the anti rotation sentiment very strange when we’re off on the hellish schedule to March now.

This is as bad as Coventry, just against a much worse team. One of the many reasons this team is destined for mid table at best is the inability to back up performances

A truly pathetic display. Varane and Mbengue should be made to get the train home.

For the nerds - their expected position (based on expected points, which is based on xg totals on a game by game basis) is 17th, 2 places lower than they actually are.

Probably the hardest club to manage in the league right now. Marti will get another gig, but not sure he made the best career move with this one.

Yeah odd take, I came away from that thinking our midfield was pretty dominant.

Rarely is Madsen less than a 6 these days. Thought he was good.

Twice behind, spirited Rangers rally to tame Tigers – Report
at 15:01 24 Nov 2025

I think that’s 3 home games in a row (Ipswich, Saints, Hull) where I’ve turned to my brother and said “how’s that gone in?”.

As Jim eloquently tore the club a new one over, the gk situation is a total omnishambles. At least we have some strikers, can you image if the cast of non scoring strikers we had the last few years were still there…

Expectations for the rest of the season
at 12:07 12 Nov 2025

I think the biggest issue with this chunk of the season (from Oct to Nov international break) is the lack of style and youth exposure.

Say what you want about game models, exec/management structures and further boring corporate chat (that, tbh, I have to deal with too much on a daily basis at work to bring into football discussions) - the dull football and lack of playing time for talented younger players is a problem.

Being direct and physical is fine, if coupled with tempo (see Burrell vs every other player in last month). Tempo of last few home games in particular has been pedestrian.

Not playing any younger players is fine if you win every week. At this point what is the benefit of playing Frey over Kolli, Hayden over Morgan, and Field over Esq (or only playing him against the best RWs in the league).

I’m happy being lower mid table if we’re fun to watch and genuinely developing some young players. Otherwise it’s the same gaslighting that’s happened for the last decade; “we’re a selling club that sells no one, a development club that develops no one…unless they’re called Ebere”
