 | Forum Reply | Big, horrible adverts. at 15:10 30 Oct 2026
I always thought adverts on sites are generally aligned by algorithms as to what you mostly search or look at, but perhaps certain sites ie for example here may have a glitch in that certain advertisers find a way to get their ads on the page visible to site visitors. If you watch a lot of serial killer podcasts though unsure what the **** comes up on the ads. I know you can use ad blockers, which can help the functionality of the site, but some are advertised as blockers but actually do the opposite and hack into sites unknowingly by the user. Am sure there must be a techy guru on here, though that can advise better and exactly what can be done securely. Hopefully. [Post edited 30 Oct 15:11]

"You never know what you going to get." Forest Gump's words could easily be said about QPR. On new years day in 1992, we annihalated Man Utd 4 - 1 at Old Trafford. Three days later, ironically, we played away at Southampton and lost 2 - 0 with a pretty miserable display. The scene is therefore set. For me, it could be 0-0, it could be 3-3. We could lose 3-0, we could win 3-0. We are QPR !! |

Saints and Sinners - perhaps !!! Sinning Saints.... Hope we can perform well. Think the first goal is key - we score first, we have a chance to get a point or win. I think if they score first, it would be exceptional for us to get anything out of the game. |

Its when we start to hear podcasters, youtubers, social media contributers and everyday journalists and us forum types that all actually follow the club and have done for decades and when all of these types start bigging us up, then we all will suddenly believe we have found the key to success. Basically we all know the history. It could all turn to dust as quickly as our star has risen. We are all hopeful without being completely naive to suggest we have finally found our long term success forevermore. But it is decent to hear outsiders being impressed with how we are progressing. |

Odegard, Havertz, Gyokeres, Bruno Guimares and presumably Eze would have taken the last pen. Appreciate cup upsets lessened these days but 18th in league 2 knocking out the Premier League Champions and Champions league finalists is quite a story. Good luck to them and they even wear the Arsenal kit.... |

This boy seems the real deal. I have watched a few highlights. He is playing left back but finishes like a top striker. Pace and power. I think he is only 18 but lets hope he is one from the production line [Post edited 27 Oct 22:23]

There is a few youtubers that big us up last season and this. We have put in some amazing performances recently interspersed with very middling ones too, but its promising that others seem to think we are onto something. |

Top man One of my neighbours chatted to him about Harry yesterday. An Arsenal fan, but was very much saying Kane deserves all the accolades that come his way. No flash Harry, very grounded man, who just does his job exceptionally well. Top man, indeed. [Post edited 27 Oct 16:25]

There was a guy rang in to Five Live to say he has totally prepared and stockpiled all he needs for a reasonable life for a period when staple items will be sparse. He has between 70 and 80 jars of gherkins. Gherkins Stockpiled. Check... Clearly a very sensible man... Good God a life without gherkins, doesnt bear thinking about !! |

Aww so sad to hear your news Charlie. Its so tough, when close supportive family members, lives come to an end. Am sure Ted is now in a much better place now and at peace. I also hope you yourself Charlie and all the rest of your family can feel some.comfort in a life well lived by Ted and feel his presence still around, keeping his eye on you all, so that you have great lives ahead. Hope you will all be ok. When both my parents passed within a year of each other, five and six years ago now, life seemed a bit surreal. Glad you have your own family to focus on. As its a tough time for a period when losing people so close. I never met your dad, but he helped me a lot on here, when occasionally I would get a bit worked up, over some posts on here, which clearly was totally irrelevant in the scheme of things. He always came across on here to me, as a very straightforward man, in my time on here. And sometimes it can be all too easy to overcomplicate things. Definitely one of the good guys. Hope you, your brother and especially your.mum too, all can remember the good times. Thank you for posting this as know he was very well respected on here and I believe many on here knew your dad also. Wishing you and all the family, Charlie, the very very best during tough times. RIP Ted. |

I think from the questions, can see where this is going to lean towards, but good luck with it Ben. Thats a degree that would have appealed to me in years gone by. Such subjects wouldn't have existed in my time. [Post edited 26 Oct 8:04]

Madsen and Adamson both got a lot of game time. Obikwu has had none. Would tentatively suggest this is a different type of scenario completely. I wish the guy well, but if Obikwu turns into Charlie Austin Mk2, will eat multiple hats for the rest of my born days and please remind me of this post. |

Yes But he picks up an injury that should be two weeks Is occasionally on the bench, only to have another injury, so we are told, which he recovers from, is on the bench again unused, then we are told he is injured once more. How do you explain that ?? Personally, would move on. The guy whose injury he was meant to cover, has been injured three times and returned from those injuries three times and this guy has still not come on. He was on the bench on Saturday. Perfect opportunity to give him a run out but wasnt chosen. Thats very strange. Not exactly a great stretch to feel this isnt going to work. Feel for him - yes - but how is this positive in anyways. Even if he does get "fit", he is fifth choice behind Burrell, Kone, Kolli and Lloyd [Post edited 25 Oct 23:04]

Are we actually sure he is injured though Bosh. Personally I think possibly we maybe looking at a Taylor Richards style issue as he is permanently, despite being fit and then instantly getting an injury. I very much doubt he will achieve anything here or even get onto the field of play. For me, it seems sensible to come to some kind of mutual agreement. Kind to both parties. Sad, but it does happen. Probably best for all though Maybe he can get going somewhere a little further down the food chain. |
