Southampton Make Formal Offer For Defender
Monday, 3rd Feb 2025 10:32

According to Fabrizio Romano the man who has his finger on the pulse on a lot of transfer issues, Saints could be about to sign a defender

footballfancast.com are reporting that transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Southampton have made a formal bit to Strasbourg to sign a defender on loan.

Abakar Syllar is a 6ft 2 central defender who joined Strasbourg from Club Brugge in July 2023 for around £18 million plus add ons.

His time at the club has been mixed and in recent months he has found himself mainly on the bench for the French club.

Sam Amo-Ameyaw could well be going to Strasbourg in the opposite direction, so you would think this deal may well get done.

I'm not sure what we are hoping to gain here, at 22 years old and just 21 League games in Belgium to his name plus 35 for Strasbourg in the French League, he is not the experience that we need at the moment.

In truth we have Armel Bella-Kotchap at the club, a similar sort of player. but with a little more experience.

Why bring in less experienced players? It doesn't make sense. Stick with what we've got and possibly bring in a goal scorer on loan.

And instead of jthe winger we are being linked with why not bring back Edozie.

I've been following QPR transfers, and the news about Southampton making a formal offer for Strasbourg's Abakar Sylla alarmed me – he's young, lacking experience, and we need a reliable center back with character, not another project. The fans in the comments are right: it's better to strengthen the attack or keep the current players. To take my mind off the transfer stress and lift my spirits, I installed the Uneekor simulator at home – now I play virtual rounds on my favorite courses when there aren't any matches. I had a question about the settings – I contacted Uneekor customer service https://www.pissedconsumer.com , and they responded quickly and helped. Now I'm relaxing with golf and waiting for news about QPR with a calmer, more cheerful attitude.
