These are Russell Martin's slogans/principles that he has plastered around the stadium, changing rooms, tunnel etc.

- "Be present. Stay together. Be us."
- "We do things our way"
- "Our history, our future, our way"
- "Enjoy the journey"
- "Trust the process"
- "Ignore the noise"

Some thoughts I have when I read these statements include;
- facile
- shallow
- the thoughts of a narcissistic teen.
- Empty
- Devoid of wisdom
- Closed minded
- Cult like.

...but that is besides the point.

What six slogans/principles would you have up in the changing rooms, tunnel etc. if you were the manager?

Play to win
Play as if it's your last game
Look forward not back
Play till the final whistle as if it's the first
I'm better than I think I am
Give more than the current 70% of effort

"In a free society, the State is the servant of the people—not the master."

That is the sort of meaningless guff that people post on Facebook with a message for everyone to share it.
The sort of stuff that was on posters from Athena

Martin opens his mouth and I cringe.

The most disingenuous of all our managers without doubt.

Nothing. It's the kind of rubbish that you see on the wall of a gym.

The kind of gym that mirror posing, selfie takers go to.

I can't imagine the players paying much attention to that guff.

In fact,it's pretty obvious they don't.

Piroe needs to get his head out of his backside and stop stropping because he wants to leave for big bucks. Some people are a bit dense when they don’t see their behaviour is actually affecting their betterment in the future. He was a nobody a year ago.

He sulked last year and is he sulking now?

Seems to be someone who likes a sulk unfortunately. These type of players are high maintenance and can normally be a bad apple amongst the group.

He might well be and that leads to the question of how to manage an employee like that or maybe look at that which the manager does himself and how it impacts on him.

I d say half our squad are sulking,if not they should be ;either that or seething with indignation.

How about Bennett who has had his career killed off.

Is he that bad. Is he worse than any other of our defenders.Could he not have been utilised in some capacity.

I wouldn't say he made him but certainly gave him the kick up the rear to make Piroe want to ho out and prove a point.

I just think it's a bit disrespectful and not showing much dignity or respect to all associated with Swansea City if he is having a paddy over not getting his big pay day and move.

What happened with our character check with players? We used to do a full evaluation on players not only on the pitch but off it..... Paterson for example, he seems to have a record of hissy fits with previous clubs.

Trouble is, one bad apple is hard work, two or more and its difficult to control.

Personally as Martin has said, I don’t think he would have got anywhere near as good as he was last season at another club.

- Don’t eat yellow snow
- No bombing in the shallow end
- Don’t mention the war
- Don’t be an arse, you earn a fortune
- Each week, donate £300 to pay for a fan’s season ticket (random draw at half time)
- Kick the ball into the opponent’s net, more than they do ours (and ignore the stats)

He's a natural finisher. Technically so good, left foot right foot, near and far. Great scoring record playing two different positions for us (and having to adapt mid-season). Things haven't gone his way so far this season but strikers are naturally streaky and it's not like he gets many chances playing attacking midfield and moving away from goal so much in this system.

There's been a real determination from some quarters to pin all Piroe's success on Martin's influence, and all his failures on his own attitude "problems". Players talk up their manager's influence in interviews all the time, it's the done thing especially with a manager like Martin who falls out with so many and has a clear ego to feed (not surprised to see him wearing a bib and taking part in training in the video released today).

Piroe could be a top Championship striker anywhere. There's nothing special about Russell Martin's behind the scenes methods, or in the Swansea water. Doesn't have the same obvious weaknesses that Brewster and McBurnie had in their games. Neither of them could head a ball either.

Well, Piroe agrees it’s down to Martin.

The reply though was better than just saying ‘nonsense’

So why's he "sulking" and playing poorly to try to force a move?

Some suggestions...

- "Be the best or die trying".
- "Listen, learn, be humble".
- "Understand your past, shape your future".
- "Work harder than he who would replace you".
- "Express yourself"
- "We can be heroes..."
