Whatever one’s thoughts are on her, I think we all have to recognise that Bangladesh is a very corrupt country and there’s the possibility these are politically motivated charges and a politically motivated outcome.

She has not been convicted in in the UK so has no criminal record and has no need to resign.
Bangladesh unfortunately has a corrupt legal system. No doubt their political masters decreed the verdict before the court sat.

So a woman has been convicted of a crime and sentenced by a politically motivated, sole Judge decision and given a disproportionate sentence without due process to appeal ?
